That Sounds like a blast...

But I won't get out of town in time to join ya... And I won't be able to tighten up my afro in time either. Something has to give folks.

The Fro must be prepared for the finals...

But I will be ready for the games at ARCO...

Have a drink for me.

Is the viewing party just for STHs? As to getting there early anyway, no can do. I came into work an hour early today so I can (hopefully) make it home in time for tipoff. I'm getting so excited!

They can't possibly limit a public bar to STHs only. I just assume that only STHs (me excluded) got the exclusive invite to meet up there. Why they want to keep these things hush-hush is beyond me. Of course seating is limited, it's a bar, but isn't a packed house a good thing?

Anyone see the feature from News10 about how nobody in Sac seems to know that we have a team in the Finals? Um, Hello promotions department, don't ya think you should be doing....something?

It doesn't appear from the invitation that it is just limited to STH's. It says food is available for purchase-if it was just for STH's, the food would probably be free, as it has been with those kind of M's events in the past. But if it is just for STH's, a bar could reserve a private, exclusive room just for that. For me, I couldn't make it anyway. I'll have a hard enough time seeing any of these games as it is. Boy, do I love my VCR right now...

There were about 40 fans there. We had a blast, and it sure was loud.

Tomorrow (that is Thurs) night the gathering is at The Library Eats and Drinks, 7042 Folsom Blvd........between 65th St and Power Inn.

I have to work til 5 and it may take me to 6 to get there. Somebody save me a seat.

Oh thanks 6th! That's closer to my job. I may be able to make it there, if I go in to work an hour early again. Maybe I'll see you there! :D

Just wanted to make sure I'm clear, there is a viewing party tonight at the place on Folsom Blvd? I maybe can make that but I gotta check on whether or not I have to be somewhere else at 7pm.

There usually have been banners up around town during the previous M's playoff appearances...specifically I remember the one on either city hall or the big county administrative offices on I street. And something on the Embassy Suites building or the UCD GSB building in and around Old Sac. Has anybody seen any banners up this year?

Part of Monty'sBiggestFan's post:

I work in downtown, on Capitol Mall. In playoff seasons past, I have seen a "GO MONARCHS!" banner hung from the rooftop of the Holiday Inn hotel (on J Street between the Downtown Mall and Old Sacramento). But this year, I haven't seen it all.

I am not sure who owns that banner, whether it is the hotel or someone else. Or if the Monarchs have been leasing out the banners to be hung from various buildings around town.

The "GO MONARCHS!" banner is not as big as the monster-sized "LOVE THEM KINGS!" banner that was hung from the Money Store building/Ziggurat building in West Sacramento during previous playoffs years.

You'd think that being the WC Champions would especially warrant a banner this year!! I am suprised that the Maloofs haven't made a few phone calls to remedy this.
