Mourning retired, JO's knees in question, can Petrie finally deal Brad to Miami?

How about this :

Miller - they need a true center (also expiring next season)
Moore - contract can be bought next season (and his an agile big):)
Salmon - they need SF to replace Marion (good defender and player as long as he starts, and looking at the Heats roster, he will start)

for

Marion - a big expiring contract (don't need to play him much, maybe a good model for Greene till his contract expires)
J. Jones - a young SF, good role player, good range and length (contract is roughly safe at 4M and team option after next season)

Kings Pros:
More playing time to Hawes, Thompson, Williams, Greene and even KT :D
A good fire sale to full rebuilding mode and good payroll space by next season.
Finally a good sign for the kids to just have fun, learn, and finish off the season and throw it out the window.

Miami Pros:
Miller and Moore adds good size.
Beasly earns more PT. and they still have Haslem at PF
Miller and Moore contract can attract a good salary space to resign D-Wade.

Kings Cons:
Hmmmm....this leaves KT as the winner.

Miami Cons:
Miller and Moore are soft.
Salmons may not be a good compliment with Wade.

Kings cons: Our best trading chips (Miller and Salmons) are both shipped away without getting a single pick or promising kid in return.

From all the reports out there, it's obvious Miami kind of want someone who can score in the post and defend the post. Why do they want Brad Miller?

There's a time I would have fully agreed with this. However, with us having several promising young players and 2 more 1st round picks coming in next season, I really wouldn't mind this trade if nothing better came along.

If I believed that Salmons and Miller really cared about the good of the team and were setting a good example for the youth, then I would not mind sacrificing some of the kiddie minutes to try to get a better haul for these two. However, right now Miller and Salmons are poisonous to us. Both of them might get rejuvinated in Miami; however, the ability to give more minutes to the youth and to get these selfish, bad attitudes away from the kids so they don't learn bad habits makes this a good trade. The opportunity cost of keeping Miller and Salmons around for slightly better returns at this point is becoming to great.

Let's ship them out. Give the minutes to the kids. Run a true motion offense and start developing a "team" for the future.

You have to get a pick out of them at least. If you take on an expiring, unless you are in a salary cap dump move, then you need a pick. But with Miami that wouldnt be an option since their pick goes to Minnesota this year. Guess its not a bad deal, but I would want a pick.
