Molly Goodenbour a Monarch?

I see that former Stanford player Molly Goodenbour was recently named (actually it was about three weeks ago) that Head Coach of the women's b-ball team at Chico State University. Congrats, Molly!

But the weblinked article got one thing wrong: the Monarchs first season was in 1997, and NOT 1999.

Here's the weblink:

That said, the article mentioned she played for the Monarchs, but after going through the M's historical stats from their website, I do not see a listing for her. Was she cut by the team during training camp or was injured and didn't play?

I know that she also played two seasons in the old ABL before starting a coaching career, which included having served as an assistant at the Univ. of San Francisco, and was the head coach at Santa Rosa Junior Colllege.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Molly also serve as an assistant at Sacramento State as well?

All I remember about her is that she was injured and never actually played a game. I believe we traded for her (Portland Fire?) or something to that degree. Others on the board will be able to give more-in depth info...

It was either a trade or she was picked up off our roster in an expansion draft. I also want to say whoever picked her up never saw her play either.

Molly G. was added to the team in the 1999 season to be Ticha's back-up. She tore her ACL in camp and was out for the season. The following season, she was cut from the team during camp.
