mike bibby the prime time example

Cool, he will see very different games coming from Bibby is a good shooter, to Nash who really breaks down a defense and dishes out to his teamates.

Great compliment to Mike. :)

I think Bibby plays more like Baron Davis, in terms of shoot first and pass next kind of player. Nash on the other hand seems to be the complete player on the offensive end who looks to pass first and set up teammates.

I dont know why Nelson would want to show Bibby as an example, they both are similar, actually apart from Nash and Kidd all the PGs are very similar who are all shoot first pass last kind, Baron, Bibby, starburry, steve francis, etc

i think bibby and davis are kind of unsimilar, baron is a gunner whose not that great of a shooter, bibby is a great shooter and really only guns when he has to, i think he looks to pass more than baron, but barons passes usually lead to imediate buckets,m therefroe baron gets more assists...and baron is much more of a slaher than bibby, he has more post skills then bibby, but bibby is clearly the better freethrowshooter, leader (imo), i think there very different players, but i defitley don think bibby is selfish or a meefirst player

I'mn assuming that;s an attempted dig, but not a very effective one -- the games of Starbury, Francis and Baron bear little resemblace to Mike's game.

My guess, Don was stressing the importance of the inbetween game -- i.e. Baron either chucks a three or charges all the way to the hoop, and Don wants him to learn patience and saavy.

I don't know if it's a dig, or if it's just being uninformed. He wouldn’t be the first one to think that. People look at the shots and the low assists numbers and think he's a shoot first, pass second player but that's not true. The low assists numbers are because he gives the ball up in a non-scoring situation, and plays off-ball. His shots are still coming form within the offense. He is as unselfish as they come, considering, he's the PG and yet will drop the ball off to whomever to set the offense. You won't find very many PG's who can do that and still be relevant in the game.

As far as Don showing Bibby tapes to Baron, he probably wants to use Dunleavy as Point-Forward on some plays, and that requires Baron's cooperation if they’re to be successful.

If I take a dig I wouldnt hide it and you know that. Didnt you also participate in the PG ranking in this forum where Bibby was ranked 7th in the league and I think you kinda agreed there. Anyways imo Nash and Kidd are the two best PGs in the league and I used to like Payton in his younger days, and if i were to chose one now that is Kidd more because he can and plays defense.

Its not like Bibby is a great shooter or a great assist man, he shoots at 43.2% and a % that is lower than Steve Francis at 43.5
If you are going to talk about mid range game then I would pick Sam Cassell as the person to show tapes of.
If you are going to pick assists then obviously there are Nash, Kidd, Brevin Knight, Billups, Andre Miller etc who are much better at controlling the game and dishing it out.
If its about finishing around the paint and using the big men to get those shots then I would show Tony Parker who shot at 53% for the season and I think the highest % in points in paint.

So once again its an honest question for the above mentioned reasons, if its for patience and savviness then I would pick Sam Cassell (offcourse other than Nash and Kidd), and thats why I am wondering what Nellie is talking about

^^ Nah. All I need to know is how the Kings are doing right now to know that Bibby is the one who holds the team together.

Definately not a selfish player that I've ever noticed.

Definately one of the best right now.

I can't believe you even included Brevin Knight and Andre Miller on that list. Those two don't compare to Nash or Kidd.
