Mezie gone

I liked the guy a lot, but Coach Brown did not.

He had a short leash for sure! Hopefully he gets more opportunities on the Suns. I don't think we'll be impacted much, if at all, by losing him.

Good luck, Metu!

He wasn't getting a lot of time and every new addition to the roster just seemingly had been immediately ahead of him in the rotation. I get it.

Good luck, Mezie!

I'm going to guess this is one of those tryout deals. Hopefully he earns a spot if that's the case and with that Suns team Metu could actually look pretty good. They are going to be running a 3 headed pick and roll beast and all he's got to do is catch it and throw it down.

He lacks toughness inside imo. Like nothing is intimidating about him...that's how I see it. We need guys that can block shots, rebound and just being much more physical inside and being consistent.

Among rotation players, Metu had the second highest FG%, the second-highest rebounds per 36 minutes, both behind Sabonis, the highest defensive rating (by far), and the highest +- per 36 minutes. A loss is a loss.

and after all that still got a one year deal. He thought he could do more than his talent allowed, and brown had to constantly reel him in after every 3 pt attempt. He couldnt understand his role and got consistently benched for it. Not sad to see him go at all. (Btw basketball player take only have no idea what the person is like)

As far as the Kings are concerned I think he's pretty much maxed out, but most teams can use an energy big in their 11th/12th spots. It would've sounded crazy back when we were hyping him up, but today Harry Giles would love to be in his position.

That's amazing. I was completely underwhelmed by everything i saw of him. Wish him the best.

I thought Metu performed admirably for our Kings. Will be interesting to see if he's a steady rotation for them next to Jock Landale. Good Luck to him. As someone who's watched him since USC I'm glad he continues to stick around.

He was put into a horrible position in Sac as a center. He's a pick and roll PF and he might be able to get enough to make him an asset for them.

They're letting Londale go.

I wish Mezzi the best! I loved watching him progress. Sadly we have to leave room for the Big Portagee so it's time to say goodbye.

His issue is that he can never seem to shoot a good % from the outside, despite having a pretty good looking stroke. Kinda leaves him as a small ball 5 in most offenses

yep they went with Drew Eubanks instead which is understandable, he's a bit more explosive bit more of a natural 5 man. Metu actually is one of the reasons Landale became more expendable for sure.

Eubanks + Metu covers them more flexibility wise as Metu is more of a 4 than Landale and Eubanks is more of a 5 than Landale

I think the Suns are actually doing quite a marvelous job filling in these minimum contracts around their 4 big ones.. Team is looking scary..

big names doesn't always equate to big results, this team needs a training camp, preseason and the majority of the regular season before making any judgment whether they will all mesh. CP3 made a lot of things work, Book and KD took turns playing ISO ball without him in the line up, not a winning recipe.

yeah but I mean Devin Booker and KD and Bradley Beal are 3 of the very best shooters on the planet. It's not like they are gonna go in some slump..

But aside from the stars, What makes me nervous is when I see them land Bates-Diop and Eubanks, they are landing quality rotation peices for very cheap its not good, Cam Payne makes like 6 Mil then everyone else gets paid the minimum, but those lineups are better than that paygrade suggests, far as I'm concenred.
