Heres a snip from ESPN's break down on Nik....

"As many of us suspected, Stauskas could have used another year of college seasoning before turning pro. That the rookie "sharpshooter" sported a 36.5 FG% and his highlight was picking up the nickname "Sauce Castillo" speak to the ensuing disappointment."

BAM! soggy waffles 2.o !!! lol!

wow what a mistake it was to sacrifice Nik land Rondo, Marco and Koufos!!! worst trade ever lol!

Well maybe it's a bit premature to say something like this, when the season hasn't started yet and Stauskas hasn't played in any preseason game due to a stress reaction in his leg.
Sometimes players improve and develop their game and who knows, maybe Stauskas finds his niche in the NBA. He will get plenty of chances with the 76ers this season.

I did like the way the Sixers framed his rookie season on their website though:

Stauskas was the No. 8 overall pick by the Kings in the 2014 NBA Draft and appeared in 73 games as a rookie last season, shooting 42 percent from 3-point territory over his final 22 games.

Sounds like a stud! We should try to get him!

I'm definitely no Stauskas fan, but it's not really his fault that the Gerbil drafted him higher than he should have been. I hope the kid develops into a good NBA player. That being said, I'm very pleased with the early results of Vlade's off-season.

Majority of the mock drafts had him going in the top 10 if I'm remembering correctly.

The problem was, we already had a project SG in Ben.

Stauskas looks just as bad from what I have seen except now he's starting and getting big minutes. So basically he's putting up stats on terrible percentages in a role he hasn't earned except for the fact he plays on the one team that will start a novice.

Sauce got benched in the second half tonight and went 0-6, I like him so I hope he can turn it around and produce given minutes, but he might be seeing more of the bench... unless they are already trying for the lottery

Even then, he's only starting because their starting shooting guard has been injured.

Nik's numbers have plummeted to 33% FG%, 28% from 3. His TS is down to .449 (from .492 last year).

From what I've seen, his confidence is still MIA. Gets wide open shots and hesitates (understandably given that he's even worse than last season). That's the stuff that drove Big Cuz bonkers. Now it's okafor (who with Noel, appear to be the only pieces for the future the sixers have acquired in this entire apparently never ending saga they're on).

Starting nik was always the plan in philly ever since they 'stole' Nik from poor Vlade. Their announcers thus far continue the charade of 'Nik the shooter' despite mounting contradictory evidence.

28% on 7.1 3's a game is brutal.

I wonder how long they wait to turn Nik back into draft picks.

That pick was all Ranadive.

The 2014 Grantland Draft War Room Videos are all removed from youtube for a reason...

Would it be less fun if I told you that reason was related to some new YouTube product and deals with major media content producers that hit a snag with ESPN or something?

He's been putting up a few 0fers these past games. His Michigan days are long gone

I thought the Philly trade would be a great thing for Stauskas. Lower expectations, lots more minutes, an offense that gives him more of a green light etc.

He showed such a good feel for the game from the first few minutes of Summer League that I figured it just had to be a matter of him getting his confidence back and adjusting to the speed and size of the NBA.

But now Stauskas is at a point where if he had a game where he shot 2-7 from three and 3 for 9 overall his percentages in both categories would actually go up.

Still too early to give up on such a young kid (he's still 8 months younger than McLemore and just turned 22 last month) but he's really struggling.

As a Kings fan it would have been hard to see him go to Philly and really put it all together to become a very good player, but it's also hard to see a kid I rooted for last year playing so poorly.
