Maurice Evans - a spy for Flip Saunders?

The rumors behind the head-scratching deal that sent Maurice Evans to the Lakers intimated that Detroit was just dumping the solid bench forward because some Pistons from last year (Big Ben among them) regarded him as a bit of a spy for Saunders. Now that Wallace is gone, what was the point? And where's the bench?

lol'ed when I read this, but it's kinda Interesting. They do have the Minnesota connection, even though Evans only played in 10 games in Minny.

They state that "some Pistons... (Big Ben among them)" and wonder why he was traded after Detroit lost Ben. Well duh.. those "some Pistons" are still on the roster.

I don't believe the angle. Saunders was the coach and Evans wasn't being used much.
