Čarolija said:Thats just your opinion based pretty much on nothing. If Corliss was to be shipped he would have gone by now, same goes for Thomas.
From everything we are hearing out of the Kings camp lately, its pretty much that they are happy with the roster we have and there won't be any more big moves.
I fully expect Thomas, Williamson and Skinner at the training camp. As things stand right now, we have one of the deepes (if not the deepest) benches in the whole league. If any of these players gets traded it going to be at the trade deadline. Not before.
Bricklayer said:Well, we only have 12 undr contract, need to have 13. So there is one more slot we HAVE to fill. Might as well be Matt.
Now that said, we'd be just stupid to enter next season with a team this bereft of true big men. Sampson has been cut by three different teams, including an expansion team last year. Given how injury prone both Brad and Brian are, is Sampson actualy capable of being a major player forn us during stretches? Or are we counting on Corliss as a backup center again?![]()
Warhawk said:No, I understand that, but wouldn't we have to pay him the vet's minimum right now? I just doubt they will pay him that much. I think they'd rather try to find a way to go larger (I agree with your comments). I'd like to see Matt on the bench, I just doubt it will happen....
You are saying as it WILL happen rather than it might happen. Big difference.Kings113 said:Kenny Thomas could pass pretty well with us.
-No, it's prediction and speculation. That's why there are message boards and discussion.
-Yeah, and there's two months plus left in the off-season.
-Well based on this thing with Songaila, and from todays Evans and Barnes articles, I think there's another trade, and another signing. At least one of the two.
With Barnes in mind, I'd be surprised if all three Philly guys stay (aka Corliss). Even in general. If Barnes goes to the Spurs or somewhere else, then that means all three would probably stay.
Actually, we have 13 under contract.Bricklayer said:Well, we only have 12 undr contract, need to have 13. So there is one more slot we HAVE to fill. Might as well be Matt.

Everything coming out of the Kings is that the roster is pretty much set. If they trade Songaila, they don't want players in return. That pretty much tells us we don't want any more contracts.
What you hope will happen is different to what will happen. None of us know whether or not this is the roster we are starting season with. You think that its just about a certainty that Williamson and Thomas won't be here. I am not so sure. Personally, I think that Thomas is the one that is more likely to stay because both Petie and Adelman have expressed their opinions on how well Thomas could fit into our system and they like him as a player. That doesn't sound like someone who is trying to get rid of Thomas. In fact, it pretty much sounds like they want to keep him.
Its also a evident that players generally play better basketball and have better numbers when they are in Sacramento. It makes some sense for Kings to keep these players around, give them some solid minutes so they prove themselves and somewhat increase their trade value.
Its different what we as fans think this team needs and its different what GP and RA think this team needs. They might not be the same things and from the sound of things, both GP and RA are happy with how things stand now.
People carry on like Corliss is useless. He is a decent player who just happens to be a 6th man of the year winner.
I guess my post was in reply to a number of posts that you made on this board that one or more of those players will be traded. Not neccessarily in this thread.Kings113 said:-Yeah, like I said, prediction and speculation.
-I never said "hope", nor did I have any of that intent in my posts in this thread.
-I don't think it's a certainity Thomas is gone at all. Yes, I've read the office's opinion on KT. On Corliss, I just think he's the most likely to be traded out of the Philly three. Like I said in my second post, I'm not against him being on this team or want him gone.
Gilles, I think I remember reading KT played SF while with the Rockets.

It just sounded definite rather than hopeful. I guess I just wanted to know if you have any inside info![]()
I just hope that he he's not playing as much Nintendo as Lionel Simmons played back in the day...Talk about the IL waiting to happen.VF21 said:The only way to go cheaper is to hire someone who didn't get drafted and is sitting at home playing Nintendo.

I think signing Matt would be a very wise decision on Petrie's part and it would do wonders for the home town crowd.
BRING BACK BARNES!!!!!
