Blah, blah, blah....the stats that matternbrans said:I don't want to get into a protracted Webber vs. KT and SAR debate, but here are some stats:
Kings' overall PF PER: 16.7
Kings' opponents' PF PER: 16.6
Kings' PF rebounding: 11.1
Sixers' overall PF PER: 15.5
Sixers' opponents' PF PER: 17.2
Sixers' PF rebounding: 11.5
So, .4 more rebounds a game for the Sixers, less overall production and worse defense.

Feb. 22, 2005 34-20 coming off of 4 50 wins seasons, headed toward another 50 win season in spite of trade.
Feb 22, 2006 25-29 ending a streak of 50 wins seasons, because of the trade

Clearly the Webber trade is the only thing that happened in the last year. Or maybe it only feels that way to you because you lost your beloved Webber.

Jackson was hurt most of last season and didn't play much, so I don't think we've seen much of a drop off there. Evans and Songaila had to go because we were running out of bench room and money to spend on the bench, what with Skinner and Corliss (and KT for much of the season) taking up all the bench room...
Clearly, the difference was Ostertag! What were we thinking?![]()
Seriously, I don't think anyone is saying that the Webber trade is the ONLY thing that's happened in the past year. It's just the biggest, and the one that crippled us.

nbrans said:I know what you're saying, but transition alone can account for a lot of the trouble. I'm not trying to say that the Kings got BETTER immediately as a result of the Webber trade, just that people who miss Webber tend to overstate the effect of losing him had on the team. There are definitely areas where the Kings miss Webber, I just think it's simplistic to say that the Kings are struggling right now entirely because Webber is gone. The Kings are in transition right now, it's painful (and exciting) to watch, but I like where things are going. I appreciate everything Webber did for the Kings, I just happen to be one of the people who think it was time.
You dont know me wel enough to asssum that I lost "my beloved Webber". Frankly, that ticks me off to read this, since you are clueless regarding that. All I know is that trade did not help my favorite TEAM.nbrans said:Kings on 2/22/05: Bibby, Mobley, Peja, Webber, Miller; bench: Jackson, Evans, Songaila, Ostertag
