Malik Monk is a northeast Arkansas native and a professional basketball player going into his second season with the Sacramento Kings Organization. While he has made a name for himself through his journey in Lepanto, Bentonville, Kentucky and several NBA teams, he has remained focused on creating opportunity in his hometown, which he affectionately refers to as “The Woodz.” One of many ways Monk has continued to contribute to Lepanto has been through his annual Malik Monk Thanksgiving Celebration. Last year marked Monk's sixth season in the NBA, as well as his sixth annual Thanksgiving Celebration in Lepanto. The celebration consists of a turkey drive and community event, which is sponsored by
