it needs to be repeated for emphasis. this move wasn't made for conditioning issues. this has supermax issues written all over it. some owners don't want to pay one player 350 million.
They are paying the same 35% of the cap to AD though.

I think the conditioning concerns are real. I am just not sure they can't be overcome whereas AD has health issues that are real and probably definitely can't be overcome.

Advanced stats are largely silly because anyone can take any number of variations and puzzle together something to make your player fit your argument.
When used incorrectly, absolutely. Like this guy's trying to do with Len here, who as I stated previously, played 850 minutes the last 3 seasons. None of these stats are remotely normalized.

12-15 minutes a night? He was playing 12-15 minutes a week? Solid play?

Really appreciate the dude for signing vet min deals with us every season despite Brown DNP-ing him half the time but that all happened for a reason and it wasn't because Domas couldn't use a breather.

could you please tell me the total salary amount AD is due and how many years?
AD signed a three year extension and Luka's would have been five. Note that there is no total salary amount just an estimate, it is 35% of the salary cap and subject to increase or decrease with the cap. Over the next 3 years AD will be making the same exact dollar figure they did not want to pay Luka.

I'd argue that the soon to be 32 year old player with 13 years of service is a bigger risk at three years than the guy who will be entering his 7th year and is soon to turn 26 at five years. Luka would basically be the same age AD is today at the end of this contract and would certainly be tradeable if the Mavs regretted it.

AD is getting paid the supermax?

AD is getting paid the supermax?
Not exactly, there are two "supermax" contracts that basically bump a player into the next experience tier.
The Designated Rookie Extension or "Rose Rule" bumps players with 6 or less years of experience to the 7-9 year experience maximum scale (30% of cap).

The Designated Veteran Extension after year 7 bumps players to the 10+ years experience tier (35% of cap).

All players with 10+ years of service are eligible for a 35% max salary.

Luka, had he stayed with the Mavs would have been eligible for the DVE. AD is getting the 35% max just because he has 12 years in the league.
