Lost

Here is the official 'Lost' thread for this season and last and whatever else you want to discuss regarding the best show on TV right now!! My mom just bought me the entire first season DVD for my birthday last week, and I started watching the DVD extras last night. So interesting to see all the behind-the-scenes action, they did a really good job of mixing it so that it is informative, interesting, and humorous.

Have a clucky-cluck day

Word of warning to folks that have never seen Lost... it is HIGHLY addictive. I did not watch it during the regular season and laughed at all the people I knew who would go on about it, the show sounded to be frank... stupid. Then came summer... I was bored and when they replayed the first episode I watched. The rest as they say is history. I still find it hard to defend the show but I watch it every week. And I love it.

LOL-you sound exactly like my mother, Celt! I urged her to start watching it recently, so she did. Now she just told me that she thinks the show is just really weird, but yet she can't stop watching it and is addicted.

The show IS the best show on television

After last episode...I knew that Rose's husband was gonna be on the otherside of the island with the others that survived from the back...

I think its gonna be interesting to see how Michael, Sawyer and Jin along with the other surviors from the other side of the island make their way back...we know they are going to cuz before the season started in an article in Entertainment Weekly they said that a love triangle of sorts starts between Kate, Jack and Michelle Rodriguez's character

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would everyone on here please be so kind as to not give away any spoilers they read or heard about for the upcoming season? Some of us don't want to know.

As for the guy-interesting that it hasn't been stated if he is indeed Rose's husband or not. All he did was ask about her well-being, he didn't announce himself as her husband. He could of been her seatmate. I sure do hope that he is indeed her husband, though!

He did say his name was Bernard...and she's been saying that's the name of her husband.

RoyalDiva - It is entirely your fault, but I am now completely and totally hooked on this show. I have purposefully avoided the websites about it, however, because I don't want to know anything - even conjecture - ahead of time. It is truly one of my favorite shows right now...

Hmmmmm. DVD of the entire season? That might be nice to have. I may have to drop some not-so-subtle hints to the family for Christmas.

I wasn't shy at all about letting people know what I wanted. When my mom asked what I wanted for my birthday, I told her the Lost DVD set. Sure it wasn't a suprise gift then, but well worth it. Just getting through all that there is on the DVD set is proving to be a mystery in itself!! I think it's purposely arranged like a puzzle, pretty cool actually. It will be a while to complete it.

VF21-I think I may now have to contact J.J. Abrams and the other producers/creators and demand my cut of the profits. So far I have led to Lost addiction my mother, brother, and now you.

Yey, fellow Lost lovers!! I am hooked as well. I purposely did not watch season 1 because I told myself I could not get obsessed with another show that my husband would have to tape when I am rehearsals. (I was crazy for Buffy and Angel when they were still on the air and drove me hubby nuts. On top of taping the Kings game as well) I stuck to it, until I watched the recap show they aired before the final 3 eps of last season. I was mezmorized. I watched the last 3 eps last season and started to watch the reruns in the summer. When I realized they skipped many eps during the summer, I purchased the DVD and let me tell you.........WOW!! Woo Hoo!! AMAZING. It keeps you guessing. You fall in love or hate with the characters who are played so well by their actors. Sayid-Naveen Andrews has turned out to be my favorite. Locke, Jack and Jin running a close 2nd. What are your thoughts everyone?
Theories anyone?

I've seen a spoiler tag on other vBulletin sites (yes, I went looking for some information about Lost.. freakin' addicting show...). Maybe Jeremy could see if he could add it to the tags available here if it's easy. The spoiler tags are pretty neat. Anything inside the tag is blacked out and you have to select the text to read it.

That would be great UOLJ. I have read many many many many many many spoilers for the show. I can't help it. I would love to discuss them with some of you and get your theories.

You need to ask Jeremy or the other mods (VF21) if that is okay to post another site's stuff here, I don't think that it is though. It's great to discuss theories, but how do you know the spoilers are accurate? And I just don't see what kind of thrill one would get from Lost anymore if they knew what was going to happen. That i what makes this show so great-the way it is always throwing curve balls to the viewer.

I wasn't referring to posting spoilers from other sites, I was talking about a forum feature called a spoiler tag (similar to the URL tag, color tags, font tags, etc.) that blocks any part of your post that you place in it so that anybody who doesn't want to read it won't accidentally read something they don't want to read. I've seen it on other sites, which makes me think it might be a vBulletin feature that can be enabled for this forum to use as well.

It is up to each poster to judge their own comments, or a moderator who can edit their post can also add the tags, but the idea is I could say something about the show like this:

Spoiler (select with your cursor to read):
You shouldn't be able to read this unless you highlight it. I am trying to wean myself off Lost. ::gasp::
End spoiler

And you wouldn't have to read it if you didn't want to. Those who do want to can just select the text in their browser. It is a hassle to do it the way I just did (and not always effective), but the extra forum feature makes it a lot easier.

Anyway, I don't know if the SPOILER tag is a simple addition or not, since I've never run a vBulletin site. But if it is, it could always be added and if nobody uses it there would be no harm done.

The general "rule" around here has always been that is we don't post spoilers. There are enough dedicated sites to all these shows that do provide that information IMHO. A lot of us are pretty active in discussing the various shows and we make a conscious effort to NOT ruin it for anyone else.

A compromise might be to start a separate spoiler thread.

i am currently waiting for this, it's tops on my netflix list, but theres a long wait, so it must be very good. i can't wait to start watching it!

We have to go THREE weeks until a new episode is shown??? I don't think that I can wait that long. And then they tease us by announcing that yet another character is going to bite the dust. My guess is that it will be one of the newer characters, one from the plane-tail group. I really hate it when networks take these extended 'breaks' between episodes, but I guess it all has to do with money and affordability.

I am purposefully staying away from any message boards devoted to the show because I do NOT want to know what's going to happen.

I ran into someone on one of the Survivor boards a couple of seasons ago who was pretending to be a fan, but pretty much KNEW everything that was going to happen. My guess is that it was someone from the production crew who was hiding behind the anonymity of a fan board to leak information...I mean guessing is one thing but being able to predict someone falling into a fire? I don't think so...

Anyway...thanks again, RD. I am really loving this show.

:D

I had to learn my lesson the hard way about the message boards...I really didn't they would be about anything more than discussion, guesses, and theories. But you are right VF21, there are wayyy too many people involved with a TV show and the actors involved for it to be kept quiet. Heck, when Boone was killed off last season, it was all over the friggin' place way before the episode even aired. Viewers just sat around bored for the half-hour it took for him to finally die, no suspense there.

I know who dies as well, if all the "spoilers" are correct. But....the producers of Lost have been known to purposely put out red herrings both in the media as well as in the episode themselves to keep us guessing. So we may think we know, but than something totally different could happen.

3 weeks!! Arrrrgh!!! At least we have re-runs.

DON'T READ THE BELOW IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN LAST NIGHT'S EPISODE YET

Yup, the spoilers were exactly right in this case, I guess in today's world run by the Internet, it's hard to keep any show secrets. I liked how the show toyed with us viewers having us think that it was going to be Sawyer that bit the dust. I was sitting there anxiously, thinking, "they're really not going to kill Sawyer after developing this great storyline, are they???" But I will really miss the romance between Sayid and Shannon, they made such a great couple, and it was a nice, romantic break from all the drama that surrounds them. I am really glad though that Sayid got the chance to tell Shannon that he loved her and would never leave her, though, at least her psyche was relieved on that issue. Now that they have killed off one half of the romantic couple on the show, who will fill that position?? They've got to have at least one coupling on there! I think I'm going to cry buckets next week when they show the funeral and Sayid mourning Shannon, etc.

Wasn't it the mean girl that is kind of the leader of the back of the plane survivors? They showed her with the gun in her hand. I just assumed she was the shooter.
