Jack Haley was on FSN's Totally Basketball just a little bit ago and said the Lakers are working on a 3 for 1 trade that would send an "impact player" to the Lakers. Haley says he's "hand cuffed" on releasing any details, but that the player in question has been contacted that the deal could go down at any time.(24 to 48 hours)

Hrm. Not that I'm betting the house on Jack Haley's "inside dish", but I think D-Biddy is on the skids in NO. He'll be traded somewhere's before next year's deadline. Scott is pissed at him right now. He told him to stay in LA doing his rehab or "whatever he's doing out there". Oh, and I think it's fairly likely he gets traded largely for junk due to his contract and health concerns.

how would the lakers get davis? the only person tha they could trade would be brian grant..... davis makes too much for the lakers to trade for him with their remaining pieces....

Since we're working off of nothing but a Haley rumor of unknown validity, I'll throw out a baseless Gargy rumor...

OK, here goes...buckle your seatbelts...for entertainment purposes only.

Some Jazz fans on the BSPN general NBA board have murmured about hearing a report on the radio that the Jazz were planning on announcing a player trade tomorrow. Boozer to LA, perhaps? If that's the case, Haley was jivin on that little "impact player" thang.

(edit) - I've now seen the Haley report. He sez that he's aware of one of the current Lakers being told to prepare to be traded.

Butler, Atkins, and Vlade for Baron works perfectly contractually. It's 3 for 1 like Haley said. Baron's a big name. And his value is very low right now with his huge contract, health concerns, and Dickau balling it up in NO for $900,000 instead of $11,000,000.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Butler-Atkins-Vlade for Baron. Maybe Jones-Atkins-Vlade instead.

So after Vlade gets traded from the Lakers to the Hornets, he'll play out his contract and sign with the Kings as a free agent, right?

No, if Vlade gets traded from the Lakers to ANYBODY, he will retire.....or so I am guessing.

Yes, I'm thinking a 60yr old unathletic chainsmoking center with a bad back is definitely the cure for our interior defense/rebounding woes. ;)

Wow, deja vu! Last time Vlade got traded from the Lakers to the Hornets it worked out pretty well for the Lakers. If it happens again, hopefully whoever they get will work out as well as Kobe has.

If the Hornets were based in NO back in 97, I wonder if he would've been more likely to gut it out.

I doubt anyone will work out as Kobe has.
