twocents said:correct me if i am wrong: if you step out of bounds, you are out of bounds until you step in bounds and not as soon as you lift your foot (feet).
i have not seen the incident, but it is safe to say that walton is out of bounds from the moment his left foot steps on the line (out of bounds) until he places it in bounds.
Bricklayer said:If both feet were out of bounds that might be true, but as his other foot and entire body were inbounds, think he would only have to lift his out of bounds foot off the ground for him to be clearly establkished as inbounds.
Gargamel said:If Walton touched the ball while his foot is out, the ball goes to Phx. That happened just a couple weeks ago in another game where two guys on the floor were holding the ball and one lied on the line. Ball went to other team.
The thing is, Walton's foot was out while he was reaching for the ball. I have footage of the play in frame-by-frame advance. The only thing I can confirm by the angle is that his hands were on Nash's arms when his foot was out. While that's happening, one of his wrists covers the ball, but it's impossible to tell if his wrist touches the ball.
Bricklayer said:Well int hat case the choices are kind of a) he was fouling Nash while out of bounds; or b) he was grabbing the ball while out of bounds. Either way...not good.
