Last year during the WNBA playoffs, I had the idea that, for the tenth anniversary season of the league, there should be some kind of “Ten at 10” listing of the top ten WNBA players of the first ten years, similar to how the NBA had their “Fifty at 50” list back in 1996.
After talking about the idea with some of the Monarchs game-time chat regulars, I decided to appoint a “secret” select panel of esteemed KingsFans.com Monarchs posters, knowledgeable in the women’s game, to conduct our own “unofficial” vote on who we thought the top ten players were. A group of players were nominated for a ballot, and then the panel voted according to that ballot. Over the course of the next several days, I shall be publishing, one at a time, the results of that vote. Each player shall be revealed in a separate thread to allow for discussion. For the purposes of this list, I made the conscious decision to limit each article to what the players have done in North America in general, and the WNBA in particular (college/ABL careers were also included).
