One thing to consider when talking about the DQJ cut is the acquisition of Terence Davis, who is pretty much the same age as DQJ and occupying the backup 2/3 role that it seems the Kings had DQJ slotted for.

Wouldn't that same reasoning apply even more so to Justin James?

Someone else mentioned earlier that this may have been a favor to the player and/or agent. He wasn't getting any burn so why not allow him to go somewhere where he might. His career was on the line.
