Watching this team for the rest of the year is not going to be for the faint of heart. They aren't going to miraculously get better because of a new coach, especially at this point. Either watch and hope for some small sparks of things to be positive/hopeful about, or take up some kind of hobby to pass the time. The Kings are going to stink for the rest of the year and it's not gonna be pretty.

For the upteenth time, it's called REBUILDING. There isn't a trade out there right now that will make that much difference. We're gonna have to muddle through - and hope the draft pick we get and whatever else can be done will get us going in the right direction. We have NO real stars; and every time a team shows up with a Jermaine O'Neal or a Tim Duncan or a Chris Paul, Brandon Roy, LeBron James, etc. we're gonna look like doggie doo...

It's great that we took that time-out with 8 seconds and down by 8 so we could set up a lay-up for Salmons to push our team point-total to over 100 points and make sure that Salmons got his 20 points.

I feel we accomplished something now...

Shocking play on the last relevant inbound.

I would have never looked for Salmons to dribble drive into quad coverage.
I guess that's why Im not an NBA coach.

Great defensive scheme by those Raps.

Just get that man off my team.
Please.
He's painful to watch.

Our 'Remarkable Play of the Game' was a very nice wrap-around pass from Bobby Brown to JT for the slam.
What I'd like to see is our coach/management to see that we are not going to be winning many games, so if they want to give the fans a lot of 'Remarkable Plays' as well as some sort of hope for the future it would be great to actually play the young guys significant minutes together.

Tonights minute distribution:

Spencer - 25 minutes
JT - 17 minutes
vs. Brad - 34 minutes & Moore 18 minutes.

Greene - DNP
vs. Salmons 35 minutes, Garcia - 30 minutes, & Jackson 30 minutes

I do not want to see Bobby Jackson get so many minutes, especially at the 2 spot when he's guarding someone 5 inches taller than him. Move Garcia/Salmons over to the 2 spot and let Greene get some minutes at the 3 spot. We lost the game anyway, so why not give Greene some playing time.

Losing the game is not frustrating because I'm expecting the losses. Not seeing the kids play is incredibly frustrating because I keep getting my hopes up for each game that we might actually see a concerted effort made by management to see them get significant playing time to build towards our future.

I can take the rookie mistakes, the occasional blow-out, and losing close games because our guys are young and haven't yet learned how to win. What I'm having a hard time with is our coaches not playing the kids when it's absolutely clear that our vets are not able to get it done.

Does Arco still do the free fast food deals if the team scores over 100? I'm out of state and haven't been to a game in years...

Good question.
I don't live in the area either and haven't had the opportunity to go to a game in a few years.
I have the opportunity to get to two games in January as I'll actually be in Sacramento, so if Natt can show me that he'll play the kids more I'll head to one or both of those games and find out.

Just got done listening to Natt.

The last relevant play was designed to happen like it happened.
Really?
That is what was drawn up?
You're kidding me.

And because Salmons is 'The man' on this team.

...
Gouge me eyes out with a spoon.
Now.

Interesting... Salmons had the perfect chance to pass it out just before he began his drive and the third raptor came over to triple team him. I know it's rebuilding and the game was actually fairly enjoyable, but that's just a bad play. Maybe it will teach the youngsters what not to do even if the coach wants it to go down that way.

I couldn't have put it better myself.
I think most of us here don't need to see the team winning a whole lot, we're not expecting miracles from Kenny Natt and all especially with Martin out. But we would like to see the kids getting more minutes regardless of how badly they're playing, especially against a subpar team like the Raptors.

Good thing out of all of this is that we have the 4th worst record.. This means a possible top 5 pick. It might be nice to get either Mullens, or Griffin (if we could) and wait on a PG next year if Rubio decides not to declare.

With free agency coming up soon for 2010 would it be better for us to draft best player available or for need, provided it's not a swingman?

I am SICK OF John Salmons. He would be a much better player if he did not have to be "the man." He should never play in the last 5 or 6 minutes of a game.....NEVER!

One thing that has me worried is that the Kings last year w/o Artest (whether suspended or injured) were doing fine with Salmons starting. This year if we put out a team of Moore, Miller, Salmons, Martin, Beno starting I wouldn't be as confident that we could win. That must mean the Kings have already given up.

I guess this means a high draft pick, and Miller/Salmons are pretty much history.
