[Game] Kings v TWolves - 7/17 - 1 pm PDT

#1
We have a first round bye. The game is at 1pm pacific time against the winner of Phoenix and Minnesota. We are the #8 seed.

Seems like an easy Suns win to get to us. Will be a real challenge. Biggest of the SL.
NOTE: Although the game is being live streamed at 1 p.m., NBA-TV is not broadcasting the game until 10:30 PM. - VF21

NOTE 2: It now appears NBA TV will broadcast the Kings Wolves game at 6am PDT on Friday... here's the link: http://www.nba.com/nbatv/schedule/?ls=iref:nba:gnav (you have to press the Friday tab at the top). (Thanks to RichieinRocklin)

D-Will needs to step up his game! I'd love to see big "Sim-City" face off with Plumlee or Dieng, only for another 3 min stretch, before he needs a breather. Another good matchup with Stauskas v Levine would be good too.

It'll interesting to see Nik up against legitimate (applying the term loosely here) NBA guard talent like Archie Goodwin or Shved. Also interested to see how Moreland copes with the entirely perimeter based Phoenix offense.

I'd love to see a match up versus the Suns. TJ Warren has been killing it, that guy knows his spots. I've liked him when he was at NC State, Suns really have some fun talented players on their SL squad.

Minnesota has legit size and two lottery picks on the wing. We're going to have to play our best game of the summer league to advance. Even then, Acy and Williams in the frontcourt are going to get crushed by Dieng and Fesenko so I hope we have a plan B.

I'd feel more comfortable about relying on Sim in an elimination game if he'd played more than 5 combined minutes in the first three games. :(

I'd like to see the same production from Ben, Ray, Nik and DWill as the last game against the D-league. Continuing to play well would be great.

They all looked good and those who are ready to write some of them off probably didn't watch the game.
I'll agree on three of the four. On DWill, however, I'm still not convinced. He's too much like Cisco, as I've said elsewhere. He'll have a great game and get your hopes up and then come out and crap on the court, totally breaking your heart. I just don't have much faith in him any longer.

I get this vague sense he doesn't exactly know how to use his skills and fit into team play. It was good to see Ben play well. I expect Nik to play well.

Listening to Malone talk about DWill, he is dialed in on what he needs to do.....play hard every second, take big guys off the dribble, post up and punish smaller guys....that's what he did last game. Malone said Ben needed to not settle for 3's and jumpers and that is what he did as well. I'm ready to write off DWill as well but maybe he can put together another game like that.

I have high hopes for Ben and see incremental improvements in his game...defense for one, dribbling is better, and I think he makes good passes off penetration (when he's not turning it over). I think people may be writing him off in favor of Stauskas too soon. Nik has yet to play against starting NBA 2 guards, so although I like what I see from him, I'm keeping my expectations tempered.

The game is actually at 1:30, not 1 like the thread states.

and i saw on NBA TV that it's not televised. It said NBA.Com next to it, i wonder if that means it's streamed on there? probably not

According to bleacherreport, game 45 - which is us (the 8th seed) - starts at 4 p.m. EDT, which is 1 p.m. PDT. They don't give TV coverage information.

Based on information from nbatv.com, it appears as though NBA-TV is not going to broadcast it until 1:30 AM on July 18 (10:30 PM PDT). It will be live streamed on league pass...

Stupid NBA-TV.

Don't worry, D-Will is always going hero-mode against the T-Wolves ;)

Am I the only one who paid the 15 bucks for summer league pass? The interesting rookie class and just lack of any other basketball made me bite.
:: clears throat ::

But, anyway, without hijacking the discussion, there simply aren't enough games to justify that kind of bread. If Summer League were more than three weeks long, sure.

Dieng has looked very good so far. Shabazz is scoring but taking a lot of shots. Lavine is what you'd expect. Raw, athletic, bit of a jumpshot.

This will be Minny's third game in three days btw.

Dude is a beast. I'd be surprised if he DOESNT get 20 boards tomorrow.
I know this is OT, but what are the odds that Mitch McGary from OKC is another steal in the molds of Dieng/Steven Adams? I mention that because we seem to be allergic to grabbing any type of big man that can help us rebound and defend/block shots.
