[Game] Kings v. Suns - Saturday, Jan. 2 - 2 PM PT, 5 PM ET

I'm trying to figure out if Devin Booker or TJ Warren will have a career night in this one

I'm a bit lukewarm on Booker, but I actually like Warren quite a bit for reasons I can't exactly articulate. Anyway, that means I'm going to go with Warren on this question.

Nah Warren just dropped a career high today on the Thunder it's Booker's turn, two straight career highs are extremely rare.

It will be interesting to see how the players respond to last game and/or Karl's beefs with the teams rebounding and transition defense.

I fully expect a loss.

So the Kings will probably win by 20.

& this thread will also be less about the game and more about how much DeMarcus Cousins sucks. Which is sad.

Agree and it is sad. If the thread is all abou Cuz hustling back on defense, attacking the backboard and piling up assists, that would make us all happy.

If Karl is still the coach for this game, he's probably coaching till the end of the season. Vlade got a golden opportunity to fire him after the loss to the Sixers. No-one is going to look at it like another hasty move (ala the Malone firing). But if he waits and the team somehow wins an occasional game here and there it will be more difficult to do it without getting flak from the media.

I would think just the opposite. If the Kings fired Karl because of the loss to the Sixers, it would be viewed as another hasty move. If the team doesn't respond, then it's a different story. Vlade has stated that Karl would be the coach for the season. I doubt one loss would change that. Several more while still in the hunt could change that stance. Do the players view him as a sitting duck (minds drawing a blank on term)?

Lame Duck is the term I think you were searching for:)

Somehow we're in 10th place, 2.5 GB of 8th.
We were a win against Portland without Lillard from holding sole possesion of the 8th seed and these losers came out and laid an egg. All this talk of "We just want to make the playoffs man, thats our only focus" and you produce that effort? What a joke, embarassing, you are pretty much being handed the 8th seed, you literally have to show up, play hard and its yours. But of course these players arent even capable of that. A disgrace to the jersey and city. Thats not even mentioning the Sixer game, good lord.

I agree, the hunger for play-offs they are saying they have isn't showing up on the court. But if by some miracle they can come out and display hunger and give 110%, we will have a chance to make it because how bad everyone else is.

I honestly dont know, I can see Utah going on a run once Gobert and Favors are fully fit, no other team worries me. The issue is we are playing terrible at the very moment we should be grabbing that spot by the throat. We are our own worst enemies right now and I can see Utah running away with it once their players return.

That's the annoying part.

If in the summer I would have told you that:
A. To get the 8th seed you'll need 37 wins (which is Utah's pace right now),
B. NO will suffer a ton of injuries that will result in the 4th worst record in the league,
C. The Suns will have a ton of issues around their remaining Morris twin and after 30 games Bledsoe will be out for the season and
D. Utah will lose Exum for the season and both Burks and Gobert will lose significant time.

I was one of the least optimistic guys on this board, and if you would have told me that I would have thought we would be a lock to make the playoffs- but this team always find a way to **** it up...
If I'm feeling so discouraged about this season I can only imagine how someone who thought this team will win 50 feels like.

Don't sleep on the Pelicans, they have been extremely bad thus far, but they are only 2 games behind us- and they have the players to make a run for it (the Anderson trade rumors were encouraging in that respect because it meant they were maybe ready to tank the season- but with so little separation from the 8th seed I doubt they'll go that route).

That's what I came here to post. Warren has his game last night in OKC. Booker is due now. Maybe Alex Len?
