Welcome, fellow Kings fans.
Tonight is going to be an interesting night at Arco Arena. How will the fans react to the loss of Doug? How will the team? Will there be an expression of it in any way? Personally, I would like to see the team give Doug his "salute" during the huddle after the introductions. I think it would be a fitting way to say goodbye to someone who has been such an important part of this team...
But the game must go on and it will. Even short-handed without Doug OR Cuttino in the line-up, we should still be able to take care of the Nuggets. And I have a little hunch the team is going to take out any emotional feelings they may have about this trade by trouncing the Nuggets thoroughly and completely into the ground.
I have my purple slippers, my lucky socks, and - for the final time - my Doug Christie away jersey. I'll admit it. I'm a silly sentimental woman and I have tears in my eyes as I type this. I hope the Magic fans grow to appreciate him as much as we did.
I have coffee brewing although I've had power outtages off and on all morning, so hopefully I'll still have power during the game. I may be drinking more coffee than usual - I didn't sleep very much last night.
Get your lucky totems in a line; and get ready for another night of Kings basketball.
The warm-up show is at 6:30. I'll be back in this thread then to share it with you.
