Welcome to 2005, fellow Kings fans!!!

Tonight's game is, without a doubt, one a lot of people will be looking at as a kind of benchmark for the Kings and how well they're going to be able to do...

I'll be providing the PBP for those of you who cannot view the game. As I have mentioned almost every time, I can do this because we have a dedicated and generous board owner who has invested time and money into keeping kingsfans.com up and operating. If you would like to help defray some of the costs, think about becoming a Contributing Member. You can find information in the thread stickied at the top of the Kings forum.

I have my purple slippers, lucky socks and Christie jersey ready and waiting. I won't be drinking my usual beverage tonight - it's a little too cold for soft-drinks. So, instead, I'm drinking Gevalia coffee - hazelnut. I figure the extra caffeine may come in handy if the game gets too hectic. ;)

Now, I have to wrap up in all my snow gear (picture the little brother in "A Christmas Story"), grab the snow shovel and go outside. I have to shovel a fresh path to the satellite dish to make sure I don't lose the signal come game time. (I have over three feet of snow on the ground, with more falling... I don't think we'll have to worry much about fire danger for quite a while.)

Get all your lucky totems ready. Do whatever pre-game rituals you do before Kings games. I think the Kings will appreciate all our cosmic karma tonight.

GO KINGS!~!!!~

One half hour until game time!!!

And now, House Party... and enough time for me to assemble my snacks. I cannot abide watching that show. Sorry, Koz - you're a nice guy and all that - but the show pretty much blows chunks.

VF, I will be making hot tea in my Gevalia coffee maker, is there a better coffee "thermos" out there, plus 2 bags of 8 oz coffee, for $14.95? I think not! Plus, the last of the homemade fundge has just got to go tonight.

Anyhoo, I am anxious for Kings to come out tonight and play some D on SA.
GO KINGS !!!!!!!!!

It's nearly game time. They're showing the top 10 moments of 2004. They showed the Kings at the Great Wall, they showed Bibby shooting lights out...and then they showed Vlade getting his standing ovation on Dec. 16 at Arco.

So, just for the record - Jan. 2 marks the first time in 2005 that VF21 has had tears in her eyes over something about the Kings.

I can't help it. ;) I will always miss Vlade's smile, his personality, his gentle presence.

Okay...

Let's get ready to "Tarnish the Spurs!"

GO KINGS!!!

Now there's the definitive example of too much information...

:D

BTW, BigWaxer...I have over three feet of snow outside my house. The Challenge grade is closed to everyone but residents ... and the CHP is doing one-way at a time caravans between Challenge and Woodleaf.

Keys to the game, according to Jerry, are:

Match the Spurs intensity
Miller has to step up offense
Kings need transition offense

:D

Getting ready...Kings being announced.

Ostertag has apparently been given the awesome responsibility of "dance leader" since he is doing the chanting and controlling the pace of the all-important pre-game huddle dance.

...

Now where else can you get that kind of insight???

So far - and I know it's early - the Kings are finding ways to get Pedja open at least once in a while. AND he's doing a great job of moving without the ball and, if nothing, else making Bowen dizzy by all the circling.

;)

DC and Webber need to let the game come to them a little bit. Bibby is making Parker work hard. And Miller has totally intimidated Rasho Nesterovic.

Just my three cents, of course...

Horry into the game. Slight boos...

Spurs ball.

Good d by Pedja on Duncan. Duncan misses; Webber board.

Webber inside against Horry; draws the foul. Non-shooting.

Pedja gets away from Bowen again, gets the double-team, finds Webber. Webber fouled but non-shooting (?!?!)... Bibby for two.

13-7 KINGS
