Kings-Rockets play-by-play - March 13

Hello, fellow Kings fans!

First a big apology for not doing the PBP last night. I got home from work late, was suffering from a miserable sinus headache and could barely stand light, so I took some sinus pills, curled up on my sofa, turned out all the lights in the house except for the TV, of course, and settled down to watch the game.

wow. I just finished reading the game thread and all I have to say is wow. I LOVE THIS TEAM!!!

Now, back to the present/future. I will be doing the play-by-play for the Rockets game. I promise.

Okay, it's about an hour until game time...

Bill Walton has already proclaimed that we're doomed. Of course, he also made the interesting comment that Chris Webber has to learn to be Allen Iverson's valet, as if everything that's happening in Philly is Webber's fault with no blame/responsibility falling on O'Brien or Iverson in any way, shape or form.

The only thing I'm truly thankful for is that Walton in the studio in New York means NO WALTON in Sacramento!!!

Al Michaels and Hubie Brown will be doing the game for us again today. While Hubie has a lot of information and insight, having him as a broadcaster makes it tougher for me to do the play-by-play because there are a lot of times when they don't even mention who a foul was called on, etc. because Hubie is in the middle of a story or explanation, etc. I'll do my best but bear with me if I miss something once in a while.

This is gonna be a gut-check game for our Kings. After everything that's happened in the past couple of months, facing a red-hot Rockets team is going to be a true test. The one thing in our favor is that the Rockets haven't played this Kings' team. They have no game tapes to go by, they can't draw on earlier games this season, etc. The Kings are a totally different team and it might just cause problems for the Rockets. One can hope!

Yep. Bill Walton is consistent in only one thing. He is the biggest bandwagon fan to ever be given a vehicle to voice his blatherings on a regular basis. I have actually heard him shift gears so many times in a single game that I've been worried about whiplash.

The MAIN problems with Michaels and Brown doing the broadcast is they do not annouce all the substitutions AND they don't say who fouls have been called on.

Hubie Brown knows a lot about the game and the players but it sure makes it tough to do this and get the names right.
