Faith and begorrah! Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

It's an interesting day here in the forest. We've had snow, tons of snow. (See the Snow thread in the Lounge for a couple of recent pictures).

...Holy crap! Northwestern just beat Iowa and Bucknell just eked out a win over Arkansas...

Oops. Sorry! :p

Anyway, I have power for the moment so I'm fully intending to do tonight's PBP. If I disappear it's because I have been left in darkness once again... and tonight the mini-TV won't do me much good, as the game isn't on News10. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The end of the storm is passing over right now, with snow flakes as large as saucers.

Tonight's game should be interesting, to say the least. Here's what the Sacramento Bee has to say:

KINGS UPDATE

Status: Confidence is at a season high: 13 consecutive wins at Arco Arena, a 4-1 trip that fans are still talking about and a chance to keep inching up the Western Conference playoff ladder. This will be a reunion for several Kings, with Bonzi Wells and Brad Miller home-grown products and Ron Artest eager to face his former employer for the first time since the Jan. 25 trade.

Trend: "Balance" is the key word. All five starters typically reach double figures, and bench producers Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Bonzi Wells also are capable of doing so. Assists are up, as is the defense.

Injury report: Francisco García, ankle, out.

PACERS UPDATE

Status: The Pacers got what they wanted from the Artest trade, ridding themselves of the cloud and gaining a shooter they sorely needed in Peja Stojakovic. Indiana is holding firm to the No. 6 position of the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Trend: The last time Indiana played the Kings, the Pacers walloped them 108-83 on Jan. 8 at Arco, giving Sacramento its 11th loss at home, equaling the total for the 2004-05 season. On the road, Sacramento has won only five of 19 games against the Pacers, who have three former Kings in the starting lineup - Stojakovic, Anthony Johnson and Scot Pollard, who has missed two of the last three games with a bad foot.

Injury report: Jermaine O'Neal, groin, out.

Best matchup: Artest vs. Stojakovic - Are you kidding? Stojakovic's shooting touch faces Artest's refusal to be punished, though Artest also will guard others. And Artest lately also has proven to be a pretty good shooter himself.

As I mentioned in the "Garcia update" thread, word is that Cisco will be out until the Seattle game barring some kind of miracle.

As always, we have variety here at Kingsfans.com for people who want to follow and/or discuss the game. You can check in - and you should! - with piksi in the game discussion thread. Let's get ready for tonight's game and GO KINGS!!!!!

Koz is in Indianapolis, filling in for Gary Gerould on the radio. Scott Marsh and Tank are doing the House Party segment.

Koz just said that Ron has already come out, talked to some fans, met with Donnie Walsh (he said they exchanged hugs), signed some autographs, etc. And I think he said Peja has talked to some of the Kings staff.

Gavin is there, and was shown talking to someone from the national media.

This is gonna be emotional for both Peja and Ron. I just hope it ends up being a good game.

GO KINGS!!!!!

House Party over. They're switching to Conseco Fieldhouse and about to show an interview of Peja by Grant. I personally don't want to see interviews of Peja with Kings people or Ron with Pacers people. I just want to see the game.

;)

Prediction: Peja will say he'll always remember being a King but he's happy to be a Pacer and he just wants to do the best job he can for his new team. You know, "both teams will play hard" type hard-hitting journalism.

...

Okay, Peja's interview...

"everything is going well. Transition is going smooth. I was accepted real well from a different organization."

Grant talks about Peja's new daughter. And Peja's face breaks out in a HUGE grin. I think he's happier about that than anything else.

"I don't know (about playing the Kings for the first time). It's weird. After being with a group of people for 7 years. I think it will be tougher when I go to Sacramento. It will bring good memories back..."

He looks happy and content. I'm glad for him.

He speaks wistfully when asked if the trade was good for both teams...

"You know, the Kings were... um... they're good and they were poised to do good. They're a good team."

He's happy to have Scot there.

Dang it. I do miss Peja...but I'm happy he's happy. And I'm happy we have Ron.

He said he and Vlade will most likely do the basketball camp in Sacramento next summer.

Word from PacersDigest - no Scot Pollard tonight.

Kings lineup: Bibby, Martin, Artest, Thomas, Miller

BLAST!!! I am soooooo sorry. My power went out at 4:06 p.m...

I was not a happy camper. Did you know that KNCO in Nevada City broadcasts the Kings games? I didn't either - in fact I had never HEARD of KNCO in Nevada City before.

I heard the game, but was NOT impressed with Koz.

I'll try again Sunday to do the PBP. There aren't supposed to be any storms between now and then but my power went off this afternoon in sunlight and blue skies with white puffy clouds so I'm not sure what the problem was.

I grew up in Grass Valley, about 5 minutes from Nevada City, listened to KNCO for a good portion of my life. And yes, I knew they broadcast the Kings. :) They also, last time I checked (which has been a while) played some pretty decent country music when the Kings aren't playing.

I was just very happy to find the game on my radio. There were words being said aloud in the forest that are probably illegal on federal property.

I'm glad to hear you had radio at least. But, you were missed. It just doesn't feel like a game without your play by play. :( I usually rotate between the game, your play by play, and piksi's game thread, just to not miss anything. Would like to get into the live chat too, but I think my computer skills aren't up to figuring it out. :o

Send loopy a PM. I sent her detailed instructions on how to sign up for mIRC and get into our chat area. Hopefully she still has them because they worked for her.

Hint: Don't try unless it's game time because Slim doesn't leave the room open 24/7.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Very easy.

My computers in the shop and thats why I havent been there. I gotta wait till I get it back.:(

As a Monarchs fan I hear Koz alot. His style takes a bit to get used to but hes not bad really. Just a bit too excitable at times.
