Kings on the bubble in West this year

Chuck Daly once told Eric Musselman that it takes 50 games before you know what kind of team you have in the NBA. Coach has said (or words to that effect) it can be 20 games before you know the rotation.

New coach
Five new players
New playbook
New attitude
Injuries to two starters, whoops now three starters with Kevin's toe

ESPN rates the Kings 4th in the division and 9th in the West. That's about right from what we know now not taking into account recent injuries. Other media rate the Kings about the same. I tend to agree.

It's early and we have no clue what will be the best rotation and who will get minutes and whether or not they can rebound better, improve defense in the middle and score with some regularity.

San Antonio, Dallas and Phoenix have cores together 2-3 years. Houston has stepped up big time as has New Orleans and the Clips. Then there is the Lakers and the Jazz. That rounds out one version of the top 8.

If we start seeing some decent road wins after about 10-15 games then they have a chance. If it takes 20-30 games to get untracked it could be really hard to make up any significant ground in the lost column.

I'd love for them to go into the All Star break 30-15 but am fully prepared that it won't be the case. Patience and persistance (and defense) is what they and we fans need.

I May be wrong so remeber that before reading this. But I would think they rate the team as far as the players they have and their performances last season. So that being said Bibby (to me) looked alot better and Martin has improved twice as much as he did last year (to me) Ron last year hadn't played basketball in quite a while and he is ready to go now. Now Baring injury or more injury i would say we are a solid 6th or 7th maybe as high as 5th If Salmons and Garcia play well off the bench as you could hope for.

I can definitely see them making the playoffs... kevin martin is definitely going to have to step it up and fill Bonzi's position. I think he is capable of doing it...
