Kings notes: Atmosphere is loose leading up to game

LOS ANGELES - You never know what you're walking into when you enter the Kings' locker room.
Friday night, it was controlled chaos, slapstick and hilarity more than anything else.
At the core was point guard Mike Bibby, who outsiders believe is so quiet and mild-mannered. Bibby was harassing Bobby Jackson because "the tone" in Jackson's voice rubbed the starting point guard the wrong way.
Then there was Jackson asking Bibby how his Thanksgiving dinner went, with Bibby revealing his skepticism regarding his backup's true regard.
Said Jackson: "OK, Darius (Songaila), how was your Thanksgiving? Greg (Ostertag), how was your Thanksgiving? Darrin (May, media-relations director), how was your Thanksgiving?"
As for May, he and Bibby have a running semi-feud going. On this day, May slaps Bibby's arm and in return wears some bottled water out of the locker room on the back of a black suit.
Divac meets Kings on the way in - There always seemed to be some type of symbiotic relationship between the Kings and Vlade Divac. It was still there Friday night. Divac arrived at the arena at the same time the Kings got to Staples Center.
Divac hugged and said hello to his former teammates, most of whom had not seen him since the end of last season.
Grant tries to heal - Divac is not the only former King now with the Lakers. Former first-round choice Brian Grant went on the injured list this week when Divac came off.
Grant, who came to the Lakers from Miami in the Shaquille O'Neal trade, said he has a chance to work with physical therapist Alex McKechnie, who has worked with O'Neal, Jackson, Divac and others. "I saw what he did with Vlade and his (herniated) disc, and I wanted to work with him," Grant said. "It's an opportunity to heal, whereas in Miami, it was, Get out there. So I took the meds and went out there."
