The Kings have named Kenny Natt as an assistant coach. He spent the last two years in Cleveland and before that he worked for nine seasons under Jerry Sloan in Utah. He played for the Kansas City Kings in the 84-85 season with Reggie Theus.

just found out about this a second ago...should be a solid hire for Theus. still wondering who he will hire to be his 'del harris' type. just read that he interviewed former Celtics/Clips coach Chris Ford, too.
Seems like he has some experience coaching in the NBA which is good. Spent a lot of time with Sloan, that can't hurt. I like the Chris Ford idea too, another very experienced guy that could help steady things for Reggie.
Larry Drew, another teammate of Theus' in Sacramento, has told The Bee that he will also be on the Kings' bench next season although there has been no official word from the Kings.

Looks like our new bench crew is taking shape...and I like what we have so far. Man, both Theus and Drew on the bench together, might as well bring back Mark Olberding and Terry Tyler to coach, too
edit: this just keeps getting weirder and weirder, all the original Kings coming back to Sac...man, I'm starting to feel 10 yrs old all over again.
I am thinking if he has Natt and hire Larry Drew and maybe still brings in Randy Brown. Maybe he will bring in Chris Ford or Bob Weiss as his lead assistant as mentioned or maybe he makes Natt or Drew the lead assistant. Drew was the lead assistant in Atlanta the last few years under Mike Woodson.
I'd say Ford'd be his Del Harris. It'd make sense. Ford has kind of a lot of experience, he's coached good teams and bad teams before. He had 2 50 win seasons with the Celtics. He's the assistant I've wanted all along.
Don't be surprised if Bob Weiss is "the Del Harris" Reggie picks. Reggie knows him pretty well as Weiss took over from Mike Fratello just as Theus was traded from the Hawks to the Magic. Fratello definitely rubbed Reggie the wrong way in Atlanta, but while he didn't play for Weiss he is known to like his personality and style of coaching a lot more than 'The Czar.'

I'd probably like to have Ford over Weiss, IMO. Ford would be an OK pick, I guess. He coached the C's when they were still relatively a contender with Bird/McHale and the bunch. He won a Championship as a player with the C's, too. His years in LA, Milwaukee and Philly were ones I'm sure he'd like to forget, though.
I didnt know this, either: Ford is credited with scoring the NBA's first three-point shot for the Boston Celtics on October 12, 1979
