Greetings, fellow Kings fans!!!
I couldn't find a game preview in the Bee this morning or on their website. That alone speaks volumes... Maybe they've finally realized piksi does a much better job than any of their reporters.
I don't have any illusions about tonight's game. We're gonna get killed. I just hope Avery Johnson decides to let his starters coast a bit. Nothing irritates me more than watching Dirk Nowitzki pump his fist in Arco.
What I want to see is some effort and hustle. And I definitely want to see the younger players get some decent minutes on the court. We have a tall kid named Justin Williams. I'd sure like to see him play a bit...
While I'll be watching the game, I'm also going to be switching back and forth to American Idol when it comes on. As a result, tonight's PBP may be a bit spotty.
No House Party Live tonight as the game is being broadcast on News10. Maybe Grant will pontificate about the "15th man" comment attributed to him by Marty Mac in his column today. You gotta love the sniping between Grant and Marty, Marty and Musselman, etc.
Watching the NCAA last night, I thought one of them made an excellent observation. They don't understand why a player "fouls out"... It puts the game too much under the control of subjective officials. Why not just increase the number of foul shots and let the player continue? Unless, of course, there's a flagrant foul or technicals involved. I think that's something the NBA owners might want to consider.
Anyway, it's a beautiful day here in the forest. Still no leaves on the oak tree out back, however, so winter isn't quite done. An old Maidu chief told me that winter isn't over until the leaves of the oak tree are the size of a squirrel's ear... And over the years, he's always been right.
Tip off a little after 7 p.m.
GO KINGS!!!
