Happy New Year, fellow Kings fans!
Hope everyone had a nice holiday season. I did, even though we didn't get the usual snow for Christmas...
First, let's look at what the Bee has to say about tonight's game:
piksi has said pretty much everything that needs to be said IMHO about the game tonight. If you haven't read his game intro, go there NOW and do so... I'll wait...

Okay, now that you've had your chuckle to start the New Year, you should be ready to settle back and get ready for the first game with the return of the old leather ball. It should be interesting. I have to agree with Kevin Martin, who wonders why they didn't go ahead and use it through the end of the year and then switch back.
Beverage of choice for me today is half-decaf coffee with a touch of Kahlua non-alcoholic flavoring. I got in the habit of drinking way too much high octane coffee recently and the caffeine was playing havoc with my sleep schedule. So, I'm cutting back just a little to hopefully solve the problem. Staying up really late here in the forest in the winter means keeping the woodstove burning longer and that means using more firewood. I live in the middle of a national forest, but that doesn't mean I can just drag a tree in and shove one end of it into the stove and burn it.
Firewood up here isn't as expensiive as in the valley, but we still have to buy it.
I've already mentioned our game discussion thread that piksi starts before every game, but we also have another way for Kings fans to share the game-time experience with other fans. You can check out our mIRC chat at servier irc.bludgeon.org, channel #kingsfans.
At this point in my PBP intro, I usually mention the contributing membership program. And yes, this time I'm going to do it again.
Kingsfans.com is possible first and foremost because of the generosity and dedication of our board owner. We've got great thing going, thanks to him and our members, who appreciate the difference between our site and the other message boards out there. We are truly the #1 Sacramento Kings Online Community.

We had a beautiful New Year's day up here and most of today was sparkling blue, although cold. The sky has clouded up, however, and it appears as though we might be in for a bit of a change. No snow forecasted, though...
I'll be back for House Party Live...and then for the first PBP of 2007!
GO KINGS!!!!!

NEW YORK (13-20) AT KINGS (13-15)
Published 12:00 am PST Tuesday, January 2, 2007
Story appeared in SPORTS section, Page C3
KINGS OUTLOOK - If the Kings win, they will have four victories in five games, a feat they haven't pulled off since their four-game winning streak in mid-November. Victories over Denver and Philadelphia came with some skepticism, considering the Nuggets were without the suspended Carmelo Anthony and the 76ers had their problems even before Allen Iverson was shipped out. But the victory over Golden State on Saturday was impressive in every way.
KNICKS OUTLOOK - Apparently, the Knicks had a lot of pent-up aggression until their fight with the Nuggets on Dec. 16. Since then, coach Isiah Thomas' crew, which was 9-17 after the loss to the Nuggets, has won four of seven games. The Knicks are 0-2 on their West Coast trip, however, after losing by 22 points at Phoenix on Friday and by 10 at the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. New York continues to be an offense-by-committee squad as eight players average 9.9 points or more.
KEY MATCHUP - Brad Miller vs. Eddy Curry - The Kings center knows Curry well, as the two were teammates in Chicago for part of the 2001-02 season. But Curry's game has evolved dramatically since then. Miller will attempt to extend his recent run of good play.
PROBABLE STARTERS
Kings - Bibby, Martin, Artest, Thomas, Miller
Knicks - Marbury, Crawford, Jeffries, Frye, Curry
