Kings @ Jazz PBP thread for Nov. 12

Greetings, fellow Kings fan! Bet some of you thought I wouldn't make it, right?

I'm supposed to be working right now, but if you promise not to tell, I'll do the PBP and then go back to doing what I was supposed to be doing.

The Kings are in Utah, for the first of two away games. The next game, at Minnesota, could really be interesting as it features the return of Ron Artest.

Grant and Jerry just announced that Brad Miller will not play. My first thought was that those 16 rebounds may have been too much. I do sincerely hope it's not a re-occurrence of his back problems, however.

Just watched an interview by Angela Tsai with Beno Udrih. I was criticized the other night for bagging on Angela, and my mother always said "If you can't say something nice..." so...

...

Now, back to the topic at hand. Tonight's game... Without Brad, SAR's agent may get his wish and see more minutes for his client. Unfortunately, another saying immediately comes to mind: "Be careful what you wish for."

Okur walks but no call; ball oob off Moore, who cannot seem to hold on to the ball. (Which seems to be a recurring nightmare thus far...)

Jazz to inbound.

Kings look disoriented; Garcia called for pushing foul inside on Okur. Still Jazz ball.

Bad pass by Utah results in Kings getting the ball.

Grant says Brad is out because the knee banging he did the other night resulted in swelling. He should be okay for Wednesday.

More mishandling by the Kings results in another turnover. Brewer heads to the line on quick prevent foul. SAR in for Moore. Brewer misses first; makes second.

ANOTHER turnover by the Kings; Boozer for midrange two. This is gonna be a LONG night...if you're a Kings fan.

Boozer with another jumper. I'm not sure anyone on the court for the Kings can keep Boozer from doing whatever he wants.

Oh crap. Blast. Jeeeeeeeez. Garcia with a stupid bleeping early shot which goes nowhere quickly. Kings able to snag the rebound but then lose the ball again anyway.

And Brewer with a sweet dish to Boozer for ... yep, you guessed it ... two more.

Martin finally touches the ball and gets a midrange jumper to fall.

Bad pass by Jazz gives the ball back to the Kings.

Martin with a catch and shoot for two more.

Okur from the corner doesn't go; Martin with the rebound. Shoots from the corner and misses, but Cisco gets the rebound, dishes to SAR, who sees cutting Salmons and, after a nice bounce pass, we get two more.

KT from the low post, dribbles, spins, puts up the half-hook and heads to the line on foul by ... someone in white.

KT misses first off back of rim; misses first off outer front edge of rim.

AK spins inside, Garcia slaps the ball away and Martin retrieves it. SAR in the post, doubled, barely able to kick out to KT, who sees Garcia in the corner. Pass to Garcia, who cuts inside and gets the up and under to fall.

SAR in the low post, can't get the lay-up to fall. Williams to Okur for two more.

Ah, crap again. Cisco to Martin, Kevin passes back and starts to cut, expecting to get the ball back from Garcia, but Cisco starts to drive inside instead and loses the ball oob.

Utah miss; Kings ball.

SAR miss; Kings rebound but then lose it on a bad pass.

Utah ball again.

Utah passes the ball oob. Udrih coming in for Garcia. MIlsap in for the Jazz.

Beno to Moore, who came in to replace SAR. Back to Beno. Jumper misses. Utah rebound.

Nice lead pass to Hawes, who catches it and dishes over to open Martin, who is immediately hammered and heading to the line.

Martin misses first; makes second.

Grant and Jerry are talking about Hawes having excellent handles.

AK fakes Hawes, goes in and draws prevent foul from Salmons.

I love this team but there is NO way they will beat the Utah Jazz tonight. No way. None. Give us Ron Artest and maybe. Give us Brad Miller the way he's been playing and maybe. But with the abysmal void at the 4 we have available to play tonight, there is just no way.

I may check back in but this is like poking myself in the eye with very sharp sticks while setting my own toes on fire. Watching is bad enough, but watching AND repeating everything that happens via the PBP is just ... painful.

I may pick this up again after I finish what I was supposed to be working on.

Garcia misses the driving layup, gets it back and gets fouled.

Okay. Second half. I can't guarantee I'm going to do this for the rest of the game, because I'm at work. VF can relieve me whenever she wants.

AK 47 misses in the lane, then Beno takes it all the way with the layup and foul!!!

Reggie claps and yells.

Jason fricking Hart makes the jumper and gets fouled by Garcia, who hurts his hand on the shot. Seems to be ok.

Salmons and Hart on the jump. John tips it to Hawes, then to Martin.

John fouled on the drive for his first free throws of the night.
