Welcome to game day, fellow Kings fans!
It's Friday the 13th. Lots of superstition, etc. surround this day. Personally, good things have always happened to me on this day and apparently January 2006 is going to follow the trend.
My boss called this morning and said I don't have to work today, which is more than fine with me, especially since I still get paid.
So, here we are...a team without a rudder, a fan base that is turning against themselves and a radio broadcast bozo who seems to want to widen rifts instead of allowing them to close. I can not pick up the KHTK broadcast very often up here, but I am starting my own boycott anyway. I will not listen to KTHK unless it's to hear Gary Gerould call a game. (I'm sure KHTK will not even notice that I'm gone, but it's the principle of the thing.)
We're here discussing and arguing about all this stuff because, underneath it all, we're all the same. We love the Kings. We just have different ways of expressing it and respond differently to outside information. Make no mistake. I do love this team. And I am very fond of the community we have established here at Kingsfans.com And that's going to be my focus right now. As far as I'm concerned, people like Grant Napear and Ailene Voisin are vexations to the spirit and I'm not going to allow them to undermine or taint the feelings I've had for this team for all the time they've been in Sacramento.
Now, back to the PBP...
It's turning very cold up here, so I've already got the fire going in the woodstove. (One nice thing about not having to work is I don't have to come home to a cold, dark house this evening.) I've got coffee brewing, and I'm going to make some garlic clam chowder for later.
As always, you can follow the PBP or you can talk about the game in piksi's game discussion thread.
Let's think good thoughts and keep our minds on one thing:
GO KINGS!!!!!
