Welcome, fellow Kings fans!
Wow. In the immortal words of the Grateful Dead, "...what a long strange trip it's been."
Would would have thought back in January, when we were looking at a team without a leader, without a heart, without passion, that we would be sitting here today waiting for our Kings to clinch a playoff berth?
As Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ (at least in western religions) today, it seems pretty symbolic that Kings are looking to complete the resurrection of their season. And they can do it by beating the team that totally humiliated and annihilated them in the first game of the season.
piksi made a interesting comment in his game discussion thread:
That sure sounds like a plan to me.
Here's what the Bee has to say about this evening's matchup:

KINGS UPDATE
Status: In a perfect world, the Kings would love to be enjoying a breather right now, tinkering and fine-tuning their attack having already sent in their RSVP for the playoff party. But perfect or not, there was a time this season when the mere notion of having games that matter at this late juncture would have been a welcome surprise for the Kings. And in pursuing the postseason, why not prove your merit by downing the same Hornets team that has embarrassed the Kings twice this season?
Trend: At least the Kings know they can beat the Hornets at home. In between the two beatings put on by New Orleans (a 93-67 win in Oklahoma City on opening night and a dominating 90-76 win in Norman, Okla., on Jan. 13), the Kings beat the Hornets 110-100 at Arco Arena on Dec. 11.
Injury report: None.
HORNETS UPDATE
Status: The Cinderella season was not to be, but the Hornets and rookie sensation Chris Paul have nothing to be ashamed of as they took a franchise in turmoil from 18 wins last season to 38 wins with three games to go. Paul, the point guard, should be a runaway winner for Rookie of the Year.
Trend: After looking like a playoff squad much of the season, they simply fell apart at the wrong time. The Hornets were 31-25 on Feb. 26, but they are 7-16 since, with the virtual nail-in-the-coffin game a 105-104 loss to Utah on Friday.
Injury report: None.
Best matchup: Bibby vs. Paul -Bibby can score on any point guard in the league, but he has struggled against Paul this season. In the two Kings losses to the Hornets, they have averaged 71.5 points while Bibby has scored eight and six points, respectively. He had 17 points in the lone Kings win.

I woke up this morning to the sound of silence. Since I had been listening to hard rain most of the night, the silence meant one thing...snow.
Sure enough, I walked out to get the Bee and there's snow. More snow. It snowed lightly for most of the morning. About 10 minutes ago I noticed it was getting lighter outside. Just now I am beginning to see the brilliance of sunlight reflected off freshly fallen snow.
I have coffee brewing, there's a nice warm fire going in the woodstove and I'm ready to share the excitement of tonight's game with all of you. You have this PBP thread; you have piksi's game discussion thread; and, of course, you have Mr. Slim's CHAT PARTY LIVE over at mIRC, server irc.bludgeon.org, channel #kingsfans.

Maybe we can lift some more curses.
