Heat ball.

Cook for three.

48-29 Heat

Thompson dish to Hawes. Half-hook doesn't go but Jason cleans it up for two.

48-31 Heat

I know it may sound Pollyana-ish, but there is a LOT of potential for good things between Jason and Spencer...eventually...

Kings turnover when Hawes shot is blocked from behind by Wade, but Heat return the favor at the other end and Kings have the ball back.

44 seconds

Martin being smothered by Cook, offensive foul called. Heat get the ball back.

Shelden Williams back into the game for Hawes. Heat miss; Kings go for the rebound but it goes off their fingers and oob. Heat with the ball.

Misses first as it rims out, makes second.

49-31 Heat

Thompson shot is good but too late.

End of the first half...

Heat ball to start the second half. Kings with a lot more pressure in the back court. Heat bring the ball inside, Martin slaps it into the crowd. Heat inbound.

53-33 Heat

Kings ball. Another ill-advised pass by Udrih and Heat have it back.

9;36 left

Wade goes inside, misses the up and under, late whistle sends him to the line. 4PF on Moore, which should bring Jason back into the game shortly...

Wade at the line. Misses first; makes second.

9;10 left

Udrih kick out to Martin, whose three won't fall. Hawes goes for the rebound but it goes off his fingertips and oob. Heat ball.

Grant with the understatement of the night, "Things aren't going well for the Kings at the moment..."

Gee, Grant. Ya think?????

Heat at the line again. Make first, miss second. Hawes with ANOTHER rebound.

65-38 Heat

Okay, I'm to the point where I don't really know how to explain what's happening out there. It's like Bizarro Basketball, if you're familiar with the old Superman comics. Just keeps getting uglier...

More silliness on the court. Reggie Theus called for a technical as he's really upset about a no-call on Heat traveling. The Heat should have been called, but at this point I'd be worried more about a whole bunch of other things than one missed traveling call...

70-38 Heat

So did you hear the one about the girl and her boyfriend who were driving home late at night and heard on the radio that a convicted killer had escaped from the insane asylum?

72-40 Heat

2;35 left

They were on a dark lonely road, returning from a Halloween party. When the report came over the radio, they laughed... After all, what did they have to worry about?

time out...and commercial break.

As they traveled down the dreary road, the wind started to blow and it got even darker outside. There was no moon; without the headlights of the car they wouldn't be able to see a thing.

Heat to inbound.

Suddenly, the car began to sputter and cough. Without any warning, it came to a shuddering stop. They coasted to the side of the road...

Oops. Kings inbound. Salmons miss but he draws the foul and heads to the stripe.

It was almost too quiet without the sound of the engine. There was nothing but static on the radio and the boy decided to shut it off to save the life in the battery.

Salmons one for two.

72-41 Heat

2;04 left

Heat miss; Bobby J with the board.

Kings miss, Salmons sticks in there, gets the rebound and the putback.

72-43 Heat

Marion with the ball. Salmons frustrates him and ties it up. Jump ball. Bobby Brown in for the Kings. tip to the Kings.

The boy looked at the girl and said he thought they were out of gas. "I know where we are, though," he said. "There's a farm house up the road about a half-mile. You stay here with the door locked and I'll go up there. I know they'll have some gas."

The girl was frightened and didn't want to be left alone but the storm was worsening and she did not want to spend the whole night in the car, either.

75-47 Heat

26 seconds left.

Cook miss; Heat chase down the rebound and get another chance.

78-47 Heat

End of the third quarter.

After talking a bit more, they decided that she would stay with the car and the boy would make his way to the farm and get some gas. He left and she turned on the radio. Luckily, she found a station and was able to keep her mind off the worsening storm...

After what seemed like a very long time, the wind became even worse. The radio station had gone off the air and she turned off the radio, saving what little energy was left in the battery for when he got back with the gasoline.

She was alarmed for a moment when she heard something scraping the roof of the car, but realized they were parked under a tree. One of the branches was obviously bending in the wind and brushing the top of the car.

...

...

When the girl awoke, she was surprised to see it was daylight outside. And she was even more surprised to look out and see a sheriff outside the window.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

She replied that she was and told him her boyfriend should be back shortly...

Kings ball to start the fourth. Salmons to Brown outside, shot doesn't go. Shelden to the line on foul by Blount.

11;34 left

Makes first; misses second. Heat rebound.

78-48 Heat

The sheriff looked at her strangely and opened the car door.

"Come on," he said. "Let's get you out of here. I'm going to ask you to do one thing, though. Once you get out of the car, don't look back. Just keep looking at me."

Heat get one from the stripe...

79-48 Heat

Kings for two.

79-50 Heat

Donte Greene ready to come in.

Beasley for two.

81-50 Heat

Kings with another turnover. Such a surprise... ;)

Heat with two more. Also a surprise. :p

83-50 Heat

Salmons for two.

83-52 Heat

The girl was puzzled, but agreed to do whatever the sheriff said. She slowly slid out of the car, remembering her purse at the very last moment.

She turned and reached back into the car...and started to scream.

Donte Greene in for the Kings, along with Jason, Shelden, Quincy and Bobby Brown.

85-52 Heat

9;45 left

Douby deep three rims out; ball oob off Heat.

9;38 left

The screams continued ... and she tried desperately to put the image of her boyfriend, hanging dead over the car with his feet brushing the roof, from her mind. And realized it might well be the last vision she ever had.

:D

87-52 Heat

Douby for long two.

87-54 Heat

Douby from the corner for three.

94-59 Heat

Bobby Brown gets his first NBA basket on a four on none breakaway.

94-61 Heat

Hey, we're coming back.

:p

But then we lose the ball oob. Heat ball.

Heat ball. Miss; some guy named Anthony for the Heat knocks the rebound oob. He doesn't look like Melo. ;)

Kings ball.

Thompson for two.

98-70 Heat

This is it, Kings fans! A run!!!

Oh good. The officials kill the run with a timeout.

:p

Heat ball after the commercial break.

Okay, back from the break...

I would have ducked for the locker room and an early trip to Orlando but I guess Theus didn't think of that.

;)

There are guys on the court for Miami now that I think were sitting in the upper level for the first half of the game.

Douby inside for running shot...and two points.

98-72 Heat

Anthony miss; Thompson rebound.

Oh look! Thompson for TWO MORE!!!!

98-74 Heat

We're closing in!!!

Blast. Livingston for two.

100-74 Heat

Bobby Brown drives inside, gets the bucket and the free trip to the land of quick one. Freebie is good.

100-77 Heat

1;18 left

Heat ball. Miss; Douby rebound.

Douby miss; Thompson tries to keep it alive but Heat come up with it. Nice moves by Jason, though.

Heat ball; Jason with a blocked shot but Banks recovers and gets the buzzer-beater two.

102-77 Heat

Anthony called for a tehcnical. Hey look. There's Lorenzen Wright. Oops. Double techincal as Shelden was also tagged.

Kings ball.

Jason three doesn't fall. Heat rebound.

25 seconds left.

103-77 Heat

Corner three doesn't go; Theus throws in the towel and tells the team to kill the rest of the clock.
