LONG delay by the officials who thought the ball might have been tipped on the inbounds, meaning the clock should have started when it hit the Grizzlies hand and not when it hit Bibby's hand.
THAT is not reviewable by the instant replay. They discuss it for a LONG time. The Kings are in the locker-room. Finally, the officials go over to Mike Fratello and explain that although the ball may have been tipped, the basket is good because that's the only thing they could review. Whether or not Bibby got the shot off in time; NOT whether or not the shot clock was started at the right point.

They couldn't waive off the shot as long as he got it off before the shot clock showed zero. NO WAY. There is no review on whether or not the ball is tipped on the inbounds so there's no way to change the way the shot clock was handled. NONE.
It's no more reviewable than a missed goal-tending call at the end of the game.
THE ONLY THING they could look at and act on was whether or not there was ANY time left on the shot clock when the ball left Bibby's hands. Period.

its the weirdest thing...i don't get CSN when the game is live...but the repeat after the game is over i get...so im gonna watch that game...so to hear it from Sacramento/Grant/Jerry's point of view....well after i read Bricks grades ofcourse

Regardless of what they may or may not have said, they couldn't waive off the shot as a result of the inbound pass being tipped. That is not reviewable. I think they were explaining to Fratello that even if the clock HAD started at the instant the ball was tipped by the Grizzlie, Bibby still would have gotten the shot off in time. Not that it mattered, because they couldn't overturn it anyway. I think they were simply explaining to Fratello that it wouldn't have mattered.
