Nice job Venom_7!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another great game took place on January 29th 2004 in which Kings went to San Antonio and played a really good game winning it 96-91to improve to 32-12 for the season. It was a Texas triangle and Kingas finished it with 2-1. Especially Bobby and Vlade came up big towards the end of the game where Kings shot 50% managing to collect 26 assists on 37 FGs. We even survived a monster game by Tim Duncan. Pedja lead the Kings with 22/6, Bibby had 17/3/6, Vlade had 11/9/9, Brad had 6/7/8. Bobby had 18/5/1 off the bench.

Bobby Jackson showed why he is in the running for a second straight Sixth Man of the Year award. Jackson scored 12 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Sacramento Kings to a rare victory over the San Antonio Spurs, 96-91.Peja Stojakovic had 22 points and Mike Bibby added 17 for the Kings, who lost 10 of 12 meetings with the Spurs over the
previous three seasons. This was the first of four encounters in 2003-04.

"They could have gone or not gone," Jackson said of his 3-pointers. "If I would have missed them, they'd write that you missed the key jumpers. You have to have confidence and shoot the ball.""Bobby has been great for us," Stojakovic said. "He brings a lot of energy off the bench, especially on the offensive end. He can get it going anytime, no matter if you have a hand in his face. Tonight, he was awesome."

"You take them one game at a time," Stojakovic said. "You never plan something like that. We see what we can do better. Dallas was kind of a mix for us, but we came back against Houston and San Antonio. The defensive end was the key."

"It was a heckuva win," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "I guess we tried to lull them to sleep at the start of the game, but after that, we really played solid."
---------------------------------------------------------------
Kings dropped another close one to fall to 17-25 which is 3rd best on the inverse table of the Western conference. It took us less than 24 hrs to start yet another losing streak which could get as high as 4 games before this month is over since we have 2 more road games in Memphis and Mineapolis and we are 5-14 on the road. I wanted to check up on our record in close games but I figured - it would be pretty sad anyways.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
42 games in this neverending season have passed which is about 40 short on where I would like to be at this point of time. A very short summery of this season so far would be - we suck big time in almost all categories even more than expected. A more detailed look isn't really neccessary but I will do it anyways. We don't have a steady rotation, our offensive system isn't effective and it is ugly to watch. Our ball movement suffers from "obisity". Our defense did not improve from the last season. We are pathetic on the road and mediocre at home. Our record against good teams is funny and even Eastern conference seams to own us. On the individual level only Keving exceeded expectations. Ther rest is either average or even very disappointing. We didn't even trade anyone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That would get us to the "coach" who said that it would take about 40 games untill he understands what kind of a team he has. He still has no clue BTW. What does 40 games mean in this case ? 40 losses, or 40 wins or 40 almost wins (we are close to it) ? What? It is totaly irrelevant because it didn't take us 40 games to know what kind of a team we have. It isn't really that hard. We also didn't need 40 games to figure out what kind of a coach we have. Does a doctor need 40 surgeries to figure out what is wrong with a patient ? Considering the way that our staff is "evaluating" it will take them additional 20 games to finish evaluating that first 40 games. Looks like we are in some sort of worker exchange program with FEMA.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What is there to look forward for the rest of the season ? Not much - really. We have 3 more Lakers games, there is still a possibility of a trade or two and we have a chance for a high draft pick. We could develop some young players but that is hard without letting them play. There is one thing that can save this season and that is Charles Barkley beating Dick Bavetta in their race during the all star break. We are screwed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"We're not mad, but we don't accept it," Artest said. "We wanted to win but things haven't been going our way lately."
Obviously we can't take it to seriously considering the horses mouth but there are 2 things that I am wondering about. You can't interpret them in many ways but that both point to one thing and one thing only - delusion and denial is the first step of it. If You are professioanl athlete - that might be acceptable to keep You functioning in tough times. However - if You are an executive or staff - that is pure neglegence. Here is a news flash for all of them. We aren't any good anymore - do something !
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Coaches corner - groundhog day here.
SAR - 1 rb in 20 minutes, Thomas 4 rebounds 18 minutes, Williams 0 minutes, Kings -7 rebounding, One more rebound might have won us the game. You can do the math Yourself here. It might have been one of the better games that we played but L is L. Almost doesn't count.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings played well but not well enough. Even the 3rd quarter was great. We didn't rebound well enough and no one could guard Dirk. They are really good team and very hard to beat at home by other really good teams. To beat them we needed to sustain all their runs and close out the game but then again bad teams find a way to lose games like this. Considering the back to back game and the tough loss against Hornets - we did pretty well out there.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

Deven Harris wind TDM award sponsored by Kings perimeter defense. Not the first time for him.He even had 2 blocks
LW-VC award went to SAR & KT combo for being very useless
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Grizzleas are worst team in the league but perfectly capable to beat us considering the way we play on the road. They also bring the 3 game losing streak to the table. They already changed a coach on are trying to develop younger players while trying to trade Gasol and het the most balls in the lottery draw. All in all - they are having much better season than we do. The teams that will win this game is going to end up being a bigger loser in the big picture.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - badly outplayed by Dallas backcourt. Chucky Atkins waiting.
Ron - had another great game here
Kevin - graduating from the Mike Bibby school of defense
Brad - we need more offense
Corliss - took a short break in the last week or so but much better than the rest of "big man that we have.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
rest - mateen
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Muss - 40 more games of evaluating followed by a long summer coming up
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Grizzlies will make it interesting and a team which finds the way to lose first will end up almost winning the game. Atkins will go crazy, Mike Miller is a triple double candidate, Gasol is unguardable, Warrik will dominate and Gay will win the TDM award. LW-VC award will go to a Kings big man dealing with Gasol. One team has to win here but no one really cares.

Lottery watch:

The Kings would have the 7th pick if the season ended today, with a 11% chance of getting one of the top two picks.

Base On The Kings Scedule If The Kings Play With Heart, Determanation And Will They Can Win The Next 18 Games
And I could win Super-Lotto, too... Unfortunately for the Kings, I think my chances to do that are better than theirs are to win the next 18 games (and I didn't even buy a lotto ticket).

If the Clippers lose in Seattle tonight, we will be tied for 6th.

GO SONICS!!!

Edit: Dammit, with 0.3 seconds left in the half, the Sonics are shooting 30.8% and are down 53-29.

"Piksisms"

"obisity"

Ok, another Piksism word, apparently, as this word above does not appear in any dictionary. Anybody care to clue me in on this word? It's fun for me to stumble into words that I don't know.

Great job, Venom 7, for your excellent bench writing in place of veteran starter Game Threader, Piksi, whose work that I admire, as well as many fans on this board. Now we know who can provide us fans with written spark in bench-writing with competence.

Yea, it sucks to suck as a team. A good thing about sucking is that I could gain an extra hour and a half on each game day by not watching the first half of each game so that I can do my badly-needed sound/music composing work. It would be nice to finish this season on an upbeat note to a playoff tune, but, at this point, given everything that has transpired this season, I'm not betting on our Kings to even reach the 8th-seed. Nah, not gonna happen.

Watching the present King's play and poor scoring is like trying to listen to a classical music score written by an ape.

Is it June yet? I'm actually looking forward to TDOS...at least then we might get more of an idea of what direction management might take for the future...gut yet again...maybe not. Don't get me wrong, I will always love watching our Kings, as I have for 22 years now...but mediocrity is quite nausiting. I will definetely be looking forward to draft day, more so than anything else. We'll see what GP and the Maloofs REALLY want...hopefully...

edit: oh, btw...is Chucky Atkins TDM eligible in this game, since he's won it multiple times in the past?(including this season, no less:D)

It's kinda sad that they thought they're coach was too bad for them (mild exaggeration here, I know) considering that we have his old assistant as our headcoach...
