[News] Kings and Schroder agree on three year 45 million dollar contract. S&T into Huerter TPE

Germany advanced to the quarterfinals of Eurobasket, beating Portugal and Neemias Queta. They had a one-point lead going into the fourth quarter, but then outscored the Portuguese 33-7. Schröder had 16 points and 3 assists.
I have a feeling fans will love him almost immediately and he's gonna feel some of the most love he's ever experienced in his NBA career. Wins will have to be a big part of that of course but i can see it happening

Germany beat Slovenia and Luka Dončić yesterday, 99-91. Schröder had 20 points and 7 assists. Dončić had 39 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists. Good grief.

For me, it's not really about Dennis, who's mostly fine as a player. It's the lack of a team plan going forward after you sign him. The bet you're making is that he improves this team over Malik Monk. We're already pot-committed to Zach LaVine and we should not be burying 2 of our 3 best defenders in Keon and Carter.

I've wavered on this, but I think I'd rather us just sent Monk to DET in the Dennis swap, if we actually didn't have a plan to balance the roster. At least you could still balance the back-court with 2 offensive guys/2 defensive guys and have a role/minutes for Keon/Carter, which is desperately needed on a team with next to no defense.

When you say winning do you mean contending? This team won’t contend, but fighting for a middle/bottom playoff seed would be enough for him to be a fan favorite.
Exactly my thoughts. No one should be expecting to contend for anything huge in the Western conference if OKC is healthy and then Denver lol

Nothing against Schroeder, but he’s another guy who CAN be a shoot first player on the court. Kings have never tried to figure out if Keegan can be more than what he is now. Probably will be the same with Nique.

a majority of Kings fans know that as soon as Schroder dons that Kings across his chest, he will turn into George Hill

If he shoots sub 10 shots a game he will. Schroder scoring isn't a shock. On the teams he was able to be a primary option he's put up near 20 a game plenty of times over the years. On the Nets recently he was doing his thing too. The issue here is where are the shots coming from?

I was surprised to see a lot of his playmaking grades from last season were exceptionally high with advanced metrics stuff. And just watching some of these clips, he does seem to have a comfort level as a lead-ball handler, so that'll probably help the offense a bit after we traded Fox last year.

I'm just more concerned where and how you get Keon (who needs to be 28+ MPG) and Devin (who needs to be 18-20 MPG) on the floor with Dennis/LaVine/Monk ahead of them on the depth chart. It's just a fundamental failure of this FO that they added to the problem of not having a role for our young defensive guys on a team that sucks on defense. AND they're seemingly trying to make it worse with these Russ rumors.

It'll have to be a lot of LaVine moving down to the 3. But, that also keeps Nique off the floor.

Perry can really salvage this thing with a Monk for Kuminga swing. That puts us at:

Dennis || Carter
LaVine || Keon
Keegan || DDR || Nique
Kuminga || IJ
Domas || Eubanks

Nique still gets squeezed a bit, but I think you can still get him on the floor if you stagger Keegan and Kuminga and move one to the 4 in bench lineups to get Nique in. And I think it's fairly likely we shop DDR at the deadline, which opens up that roster spot.

I don't think that's a title contender next season or anything, but that team can compete for 45-47 wins and maybe sneak a 6 seed sort of season. And we'd have an actual eye to the future with seeing what some of these young guys can do.

If nothing changes between now and opening night, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Clifford assigned to Stockton so he can get a lot of playing time and then the minutes at one and two divided up to Keon. I don’t see any scenario where Levin is looked at as a long-term Asset.
