This is a significant development, thanks for posting this! As bad as the team is playing right now, there's reasons for optimism:
(1) The new contract extension for Fox signals that they're willing to spend franchise player money when the need arises which we haven't really been sure of since the Webber era.
(2) Drafting Halliburton drastically improved our team outlook. Buddy slumping like he has would have been a massive problem without Haliburton already being here, ready to replace him.
(3) I would say that McNair's first off-season was a massive success when you also factor in grabbing Whiteside on a minimum contract, Woodard's potential, and snagging Metu for nothing.
(4) And lastly, when you look at the success Golden State had in putting together their championship level team, keeping Curry on the court early in his career was a problem until they invested in exercise science data and overhauled their performance and recovery practices. In this respect at least, I'm happy to be emulating GS since we've already seen how our chances of winning drop dramatically whenever any of our key rotation guys is sidelined for even a couple games.
