Kings 2023-2024 Schedule released!

I only just got around to looking at the schedule. Only one game in Portland this year and it's...
THE DAY AFTER FREAKIN CHRISTMAS?!?

That's a Tuesday night. Not sure if this would bode well for getting the courtside seats I purchased at the auction last year but I had planned on visiting my mom (in Carmel) for Christmas, so while we could make it back the next day that's iffy.

Did we not play Portland 4 times last year? Opening night and the two when we clinched, but I thought there was a second home game? Am I suffering from old age again?

There was definitely two home games vs Portland last year, I was at both of them!

Yup! Our home opener was with them, right? When everyone thought we were headed back to the lottery less than a year ago lol i think some Kings fans (including myself) need to appreciate just how magical this past season was.

I can’t drink beer. just have no taste for it. I’ve had friends over the years suggest many kinds… no luck. I’m sure there’s amazing pours out there but I’m out of the search.

Most people who dislike beers tend to dislike the the taste of hops, which is the bittering agent (and primarily in times past also the preservative) in beer, used to balance the malt.

No guarantees, but one style I suggest for non-beer drinkers is a Belgian white.

There are two beers I have ever thoroughly enjoyed: Pilser Urquell, and Guinness (on tap). Went to college in Eugene during the nascent phases of the microbrew explosion. If you're a beer person I'm sure there are many to enjoy but what's happened in my Italian opinion is chasing new flavors, rather than perfecting the old, such as our honorable friend above, Mr. PorchSurfin, in his Pils Urquell rendition. I can respect that. I can't respect a chocolate apricot "really hoppy" IPA from BeerWerks brewing company started in an abandoned shipyard in Oakland. As the King of blue-eyed soul once said, "No can do".

I liked Guinness when I was younger. The dark stuff. But not a huge fan of beer and don't have any in my fridge. I would rather drink a soda than a beer if I were watching TV or a ball game. But I really don't have a taste for beer or alcohol either. The only time I will drink is when I am with friends and I want to get buzzed but other than that I have no taste for it either.

So the Kings play the Warriors and Lakers four out of their first 10 games? I'd much rather play the old teams like the Lakers (LBJ) and Warriors (CP3 and Curry) later in the season when they are tired and crippled. That said, if the Kings have to face these experienced western conference teams early, I'm glad they are going into battle with a full year of Brown's system and coaching under their belt. Win or lose against those teams, there is going to be a lot to talk about by mid-November.
