Kings 2023-2024 Schedule released!

So, traditionally the breakdown has been:
2 vs. Eastern Conf. = 30
4 vs. Pacific Div. = 16
4 vs non-Pac. West (6 teams) = 24
3 vs non-Pac. West (4 teams) = 12
Total = 82
With the two "TBA" games (based on whether we get into the in-season tournament or not), they have changed the last two lines to:
4 vs non-Pac. West (4 teams) = 16
3 vs non-Pac. West (6 teams) = 18
TBA = 2
One would presume that if we do not make the in-season tournament they will try to match us up with non-Pac. West teams on our "3 games vs." list, but I doubt they can guarantee we actually get those.
As it stands, here's the breakdown for the "could be 3, could be 4 games" teams, with their total wins last year:
4 games = Denver (53), NOP (42), OKC (40), Dallas (38).........average = 43.25
3 games = Memphis (51), Minny (42), Utah (37), Portland (33), Houston (22), San Antonio (22)........average = 34.5
So, yeah, that's par for the course. If we make the tournament, that basically seals the deal on our schedule being more difficult than it should have been, on average. If we don't make the tournament, then the only way to "break even" is to get Portland and either Houston or SA. Or, if we got both Houston and SA, that would flip us to a beneficial schedule. Any other setup, we got the short end again (or to get a very weak EC team for a third matchup, I don't think they'll do that).
7 of our last 12 games are nationally televised, so if we're in a hunt for playoff positioning, the whole country gets to watch.
They need to get better marketing interns.
I mean, geez, might as well just call it PINEAPPLES Week, it would have as much relevance...

The only thing that ever truly irritates me is that the Lakers usually tend to have the least amount of back to backs, but they usually have one of the older squads so no surprise the NBA traditionally looks out for them. Also, the Lakers tend to not travel as much to start the season as other teams do.
Maybe I'm just a bitter Kings fan lol. However, I'm cautiously optimistic entering this season the same way I was last year. The ability/path/personnel si there to improve. They just have to actually prove it. Again.
I think they will. And I'm pretty damn excited to watch it unfold. I honestly think Vezenkov will be a league leader in 3pt%. It's a very real chance the Kings have 2-3 top 20 finishers in 3pt made and/or 3pt%.

In thinking about it, they always seem to stick to the same teams for the most B2B. I just feel like both the Warriors and Clippers always end up with the most.

This is the best whiskey I have ever tasted. The whiff out of the snifter smelled like a cabinet shop, or a ponderosa pine forest. Was enjoying it in the tasting room in Butte. Wonderful people, and company.
I would add that the whisky will still be there after the game. Compromise - order a bottle of this, have a glass when you get home from the game. It's already the best whiskey there.

My homebrew recipe is based off Pils Urquell. The decoction mash especially, in order to get that layer of depth as the original. The grain bill (100% pilsner malt) and hops (100% Saaz @ 60 minutes, 15 minutes, 5 minutes) are the easy part lol.Ah! A pilsner man! A man of taste and culture. You a fan of Pilsner Urquell? Boiling grains and stepping up the mash temp properly are as vital as the proper yeast and controlling fermenting temp (I have a glycol chiller and heating jacket on my conicals so if I say 54 degrees, its between 53.5 and 54.5 degrees).
There might have been a couple 1st and/or 2nd place finishes at the CA state fair involved back when I cared about competing......

Pretty sure we were around 22-23 games back then. Not sure what the TNT, ESPN, and NBATV breakdowns were at that time tho.
And part of that is they and the Clips, for instance, don't have to travel for as many "away" games (other than the locker room choice?). If anything, they should get less preferential treatment.

I’ll keep an eye out for that. I’m always looking for that next really good pour.
If I hadn’t already bought my VIP ticket, booked hotel room, and convinced out of town friends to join me, I’d consider skipping… but it it what it is. I don’t imagine I’ll have a hard time finding a friend to take the Kings ticket off my hand, luckily.
At least I’ll catch the re-match in November.

There are two beers I have ever thoroughly enjoyed: Pilser Urquell, and Guinness (on tap). Went to college in Eugene during the nascent phases of the microbrew explosion. If you're a beer person I'm sure there are many to enjoy but what's happened in my Italian opinion is chasing new flavors, rather than perfecting the old, such as our honorable friend above, Mr. PorchSurfin, in his Pils Urquell rendition. I can respect that. I can't respect a chocolate apricot "really hoppy" IPA from BeerWerks brewing company started in an abandoned shipyard in Oakland. As the King of blue-eyed soul once said, "No can do".
