'Arizona is gonna have another good coach after me, I promise you. I mean, this place is special.' — Tommy Lloyd
CTL - Go get your bag, but Desireé Reed-Francois if you aren't the bag (wo)man, your career is over.

I dunno, I mean stuff can happen but pretty sure Michigan/Arizona is the de facto title game this year

Illinois is on one hell of a heater though and Dan Hurley is a hell of a college coach does feel like Arizona has to be the favorites for the remainder of the tourney though

Also my bracket is officially dead.
If Arizona wins the Championship, Loungelizard wins the bracket.
If Arizona loses in the finals, I win the bracket.
If Michigan beats Arizona, Chris wins the bracket regardless of any other results.

In one way its good we all get the matchup everyone wanted all year before Illinois or UCONN can spoil it but the seeding committee insisting that Arizona was # 3 and Duke #1 and then rejigging on the fly after Michigan lost probably caused all kinds of hidden havoc and then puts the top 2 teams in the semifinal.

I don't know how many cinderella stories it would kill if they reseeded solely for the Final Four but I think I wish they did.

Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd has agreed to a new deal with the school, he announced, as he said at Final Four presser he’s staying at the school.

Per ESPN sources, Arizona’s new deal with Lloyd will make him one of the five highest paid coaches in college basketball, per me and Jeff Borzello. He’ll start in 2026-27 at nearly $7.2 million and will average $7.5 million over the life of the deal, ESPN sources tell me and Jeff Borzello.

“My Michael Jordan is Steve Kerr,” Lloyd said.
Also rumors that part of the deal involves Arizona Athletic Director Desireé Reed-Francois's will not have her contract renewed if not dismissed entirely. Reports were that she had nixed a 500k facilities update earlier this year and that may have been the last straw in their relationship (her son is also on the team as a walk on, which a lot of people think may have also ruffled his feathers). Curious if true, obviously this is one of those cases where the talent is more important than the management.

LOL at the Jordan/Kerr bit. Mostly because I don't think MJ shows up for UNC, just like he doesn't show up for anything that doesn't enhance his brand. Rumors he is suddenly going to throw a bag to cover buy outs and large contracts and called Lloyd personally gave me a bit of a chuckle, especially when Tommy has LeBron's child on his team.

"This wasn't meant to be a leverage deal. I appreciate our administration and I think we've made great progress on the vision of what Arizona Basketball can be."- Tommy Lloyd on his agreement to remain at Arizona

Kings absolutely do not need him what with Domas, Max, and Dylan already on the roster but is do love me some Ivisic

And this is why I don't fill out a bracket when I think my team has a shot 😢 🐻 ⬇️

For nearly the entirety of my adult life I've maintained that the 87-88 and 96-97 title team were on equal footing for me but I think I appreciate that 97 run just a teensy bit more now. This was the funnest Cats team I had ever watched and to go out like this really puts it in perspective what that team accomplished as a lowly 4 seed.

Feels like Michigan is going to run away with this game but I wouldn’t put it past Dan Hurley to get UConn over the top

If the refs are going to keep giving Michigan three free throws calling fouls on a rip-through about 35 feet from the basket I don't think UConn has a chance.
