Locking Keegan in longterm BEFORE his breakout season a clutch move.
Its very Keegan Murray of Keegan Murray to make the star leap after the extension for sure

Keegan's "contract year" is the first year of his new contract.... of course lolIts very Keegan Murray of Keegan Murray to make the star leap after the extension for sure
This is a good example of how stats don’t always tell the full story
I'm pretty sure that "allowed 7/9 shooting" and "had 3 blocks" (via boxscore) are not mathematically compatible. This is a good example of how stats don’t always tell the full story
If he helped on one or more of the blocks, I imagine the shooting stat is solely 1:1?I'm pretty sure that "allowed 7/9 shooting" and "had 3 blocks" (via boxscore) are not mathematically compatible.
I would think even if the guy wasn't primarily "yours" that if you block the shot then they're on your ledger, but I dunno. I guess that could be the explanation. If he helped on one or more of the blocks, I imagine the shooting stat is solely 1:1?
If a guy beats his man and then beats the help, who gets tagged with it? I don't know, but I guess thinking about it that way and assigning it to the primary defender would partially explain the way they might score keep these things. Defense is such a tricky thing to stat keep correctly.I would think even if the guy wasn't primarily "yours" that if you block the shot then they're on your ledger, but I dunno. I totally read his name as "Tsunami" at first glance...
I infer several things from this data:
what a weird stat….your thesis makes sense.I infer several things from this data:
1) Our defense tends to result in emergency closeouts
2) Keegan is doing way too many emergency closeouts
3) Domas and Fox could also be bothered to do emergency closeouts last year
4) Nobody on our team aside from Keegan (and perhaps Domas - INJ) can be bothered to do emergency closeouts this year
Murray is only shooting 27% from three in his first 8 games, in 6 attempts per game. That percentage has to come up if the Kings want an effective offense. His overall FG% is 44.7%, which is low for a power forward. He is ahead only of Westbrook, Ellis, Clifford, and Schroeder, all shooting in the low 40% range.
His best shooting season in his first year, came when his main role was shooting. He wasn't even rebounding at a good rate then. Lets see if he can increase his % when having to work so hard on both ends at all times. It isn't easy
I don't know, covering or not, he's expected to take the best wing scorer....and also work for rebounds. In doing so, he obviously expends a lot of energy. Many will be disappointed if they're told that they can't expect him to average 20I mean, if we move on from Domas, Deebo, and Zach, in theory Keegan won't have to cover for the other starters on defense anymore. I guess that depends on who we bring in.
It's entertaining to see Keegan switch around and totally bust up a play by defending 1-5, but we can't expect him to do that AND average 20ppg. Not at the pace we want to play anyways.
Considering the importance of this muscle, which, as the name suggests, has three parts, it looks highly doubtful that Murray will play against the Pacers. I imagine that Precious Achiuwa would get the assignment to guard Pascal Siakam. They must know each other well, coming from neighboring countries in West Africa.Keegan is listed as a game-time decision for Monday night. He was on the bench with an ice pack on his neck against Miami. The official explanation is "right trapezius soreness."

Apparently more relevant than the fact they were teammates in Toronto.
Cameroon for Siakam, Nigeria for Achiuwa.
I though the same thing.
How well do you know people living in Canada? Or Nevada, for that matter?Cameroon for Siakam, Nigeria for Achiuwa.
I actually took that as a wry joke. Could be wrong, I guess. How well do you know people living in Canada? Or Nevada, for that matter?
I plead Poe's Law. We live in interesting times.I actually took that as a wry joke. Could be wrong, I guess.
