Keegan. Murray.

Totally agree. Last night was probably the best all-around game I remember seeing him play. The key is his aggressiveness on offense. Deebo's quote on this being "his team" is encouraging, but I think the key is that Keegan absolutely needs to demand the ball when he feels he's getting frozen out.

I'd like to see him be the team leader in FGA just to see what his production looks like with high volume and no longer being a catch and shoot type of player

With DDR, Westbrook, LaVine, Monk and Schroder, the offense will never come to you if you just stand around and wait for a pass. Just ask Keon and Nique.
If I am them I am getting mine. Sadly the players that want to play like a team and win are the ones that the coach or organization will allow.

I've really liked how Keegan has started to wave these guys off and take shots himself. Often in the past, he'd just defer, try to keep the flow of the offense going.

But he's been very active looking for his offense. Gotta see it keep going

What's especially impressive is that so many of these plays were going right at Rudy Gobert and he wasn't throwing up junk, hoping for a whistle or shying away from contact and shooting off balance leaners -- he was just head down, get to my spot, take the bump, and find a way to finish. That's star level stuff.
Much of that came from him being an above-average three-point shooter. On more than a several possessions, he caught the ball and used defenders’ aggressive closeouts as leverage. The real difference from previous seasons is his willingness to exploit those situations 10-15 times a game instead of just 3,4 times in an entire matchup like he used to when playing alongside <insert team's other focal point players>.

Yes! Keegan highly likely is never a number 1 on a good team; however he can (and should) be a number 1 on a below average rebuilding team. He needs to be in that mindset over the next couple years and hopefully on our way out of this mess he can become one of the better “number 2” in the league when we are relevant again.

More than anything, I love how Keegan has been talking since his return. That quiet confidence is still quiet but he has no problem talking about his aggression and what he's looking to do going forward. It's one thing to hear from the other guys like DeMar and Coach (and I believe them) but hearing Keegan believe in himself is most exciting.

I would love to see a shots per minute statistic for players to see how “stars” compare to role players. I wonder where Keegan and other role players fall in it. The guys that might be stars but have “potential”. When they became stars was it simply a big increase in that statistic?

We truly won’t see him ascend until DDR and Lavine and Westbrook and Schroeder leave. These guys refuse to feed Murray even when he’s got it going

Look at stats like Anthony Edwards they don’t wait for the ball they go get it. Murray needs to call for it and get on Doug if he isn’t getting the ball. The four you mentioned can kick rocks. Doug should make that clear.

Refuse to feed him. Then maybe he should step up and demand it. Dude isn’t a rookie anymore.

That’s the main difference I’m seeing this year so far. Keegan is much more assertive and aggressive. Hopefully this is the new norm for him. It’s the only way his game takes a significant leap at this point.
It was one game and one quarter. The he needs to demand it. I know he went through a period where he locked his emotions out, but truthfully he needs to bring it a bit back. Stars need a little arrogance imo. Even 2000, Web had it.

I hope he can he his 3pt % back up. I want to see his confidence from the first year. I wonder if the shooting coach for Murray and Sabonis is vivek’s friend.
