Okay, is anyone planning on tailgating for the home opener this year? I would very much like the opportunity to meet up with some of my friends to begin the home season of our Sacramento Monarchs. Since I have been gone the past couple of years and have only just returned, what better way to renew old friendships? :D

If no one has a tailgate party planned, but, would like to get in on one, then this is the place to work out something. Anyone??

6 hours til tip of Lynx v Monarchs, gonna be a good one...

Anyway tailgate is where a bunch of people hang out by their cars with a grill, some drinks, maybe some music, munchies and they hang out and talk basketball, or about whatever. You meet alot of people (if there is alot of people around). Just a place to hang out like a pre game party. Oh yeah, bring a lawn chair of some kind.

Anyone can go. Well I shouldn't speak for yall, but when we have them, all ages are welcome. Just bring like soda, water, some munchies whatever you want. I have a blast at them, but then again, there is nothing better to me then good food, good drinks, some good music (a must have), and good people. The simple things in life.

Okay, I'll step in to organize things. However, my church is having a yard sale that morning (can't they look at the Monarchs schedule first?), so I might not be there right away.

Let's assemble at the eastern end of the practice facility (which is where we've met before). Take the East Entrance Road, go through gate 9, and follow the road around to the practice facility. Look left for a group of folks sitting around on lawn chairs. The parking lot generally opens two hours before game time (and that's where my problem comes -- I don't think I can get there that early). If someone could stake out our area around 11-ish, we should all be able to drift in and meet each other.

In the past we've done the tailgate pot luck style. Does anyone want to do that this year, or should we all fend for ourselves? I do have a portable BBQ, but like I said, it won't be there right away.

Okay, someone pick up the ball....

Sounds good, HoopMatron.

hoopsfan, are you up for helping me stake out a place? I have a couple of chairs.

I like potluck idea. Just everybody bring what they want with enough to share with others. How does that sound? I may bring some already cooked hot dogs wrapped in foil if we don't want to have to deal with a grill. Just a thought.

Everyone is welcome. Please check in here and give us some idea of how many so we can figure out how big of a space to stake out in the parking lot.

I'll try to get there around 11-ish with something. I have to park on the other side of the arena so I'll be hiking from the hinter regions.
MBF, you can park where we are even if you have preferred parking. We will be in a non-designated area. Just turn in you preferred stub and park in any lot you want. They haven't changed that have they?

I'm up for it 6th! Just fill me in on the details and we'll stake out a place for everyone.

Attention to all who are going to the game:

Please stop by and say hello at the tailgate party. I will be bringing hotdogs, buns, mustard, catsup, and maybe some relish and/or chopped onions.

If you are planning to hang out with us prior to the game, please check in here and give me a count for the hotdogs. Thanks!!!

Hey 6th...I'll take one of those dogs. ;)

I'll bring some cookies/sweets for dessert...but I'll still have to get some garlic fries at the game. :p

Okay, I'll bring plenty of hot dogs and fixins. I'll cook em on my grill, then wrap them in foil and bring em that way so we don't have to deal with a grill in the parking lot...unless someone particularly wants to.

Does anyone have a small folding table they could bring (as early as possible) to set our goodies on?

Don't forget your lawn chairs.

Are you ready to rumble? Let the home season begin. :)

I'll bring plates, napkins and utensils if those haven't already been covered and I missed it in the thread......
Good idea! You're on!

Are you going to park over by where we are setting up?
