JT waived?

I feel bad for JT. Hopefully he'll get picked up. I think he will. And it will be better for him because he sure hasn't been playing at GS.

I assume that was to clear room for Varejao, but some bad luck there for JT. Unless he created some of it himself by complaining or something. But otherwise he is now in serious danger of going an entire, lengthy, NBA career without making the playoffs. Just when he was going to to get his Mitch Richmond ring too.

He created it himself by not being a good basketball player.

I can't believe that this bad of a player was the starting Power Forward for the Kings for 7 years - think about the talent differential that represents!

From starting here for close to a decade of failure, compared to not even being worthy of a roster spot on a good team......

Dislike.

I think he still gets a ring for being on the team for part of the year no?

I don't know how that works. You wouldn't get a ring if you were traded to another team at the deadline would you?

Either way, if you're JT would you want a ring? He played in half the team's games and averaged 6 mpg, both of which would be lower if the Warriors didn't blow out so many teams leading to lots of garbage time minutes for the end of bench guys.

I still think JT has value as a bench big. And I appreciate his contributions when he was a King. Hope he sticks somewhere else.

Per my knowledge, he would get a ring if the Warriors win. I also believe Varejao himself is in a situation where if either Warriors or Cavs win, he would get a ring.

Feel bad for him.

Also I'm very curious about if anyone wants him & potential contract next season. Should finally "settle" the last few holdouts that he was a decent contract that still lingers.

He is a decent role player on a team that has a need, but........ that's all he ever was. Puts it in perspective when people complain that "DeMarcus has never won, blah, blah, blah" Look what we have surrounded him with

So while posters take easy shots at JT being waived, there are still some posters who bemoan the trade that sent out JT, Landry and Nick for the space to bring in Rondo, KK, Belli and re-sign Caspie... some are the same posters.

While I don't fall into either category, I don't think there's anything particularly conflicting between the belief that JT is a bad player, and the belief that a trade where we gave up draft assets to get rid of him was a bad trade.

Those "draft assets" at this point are essentially vapor-ware. Perhaps in the future their actual worth will materialize and if it outweighs the current net balance I will be first to admit I was wrong, but for the moment it is pretty difficult to smirk about the players e sent out being busts on one hand and then complain about the trade that sent them out for assist leader, the solid play of Omri, and two other vets.

dam straight - people argue and moan so much. We are here to win now, like yesterday, that's the story line.

Our failure to put the right people in positions of power is where we have failed, not on that move

And me who thinks JT was a good player, that the trade was good, and I wish the best for JT who has useful NBA play left in him.

“You can tell it’s a first-class organization,” Thompson said. “No offense to [Sacramento], but there was no stability in the seven years that I was there. You could just tell, from Day 1, when the trade went through, how differently things went on and off the court."

While he's not wrong in terms of instability...
His constant crying on the court after every possession only made matters worse.
