Jamison, traded to Cavs!

I hope the Wiz do the right thing and buy Z out so he can go back to the Cavs

I don't see how that's the "right thing". It's a blatant circumvention of the rules if that was a predetermined part of the deal. It would be nice for Big Z, but it's kind of shady.

Wow, good deal there Clips. :p

Washington however got what they wanted.

Yeah, they're looking at a $32 million payroll going into next season. That's assuming they don't try to void Arenas' contract, which would bring it down to $15 million. Oh, and they have an option on the final year of Josh Howard's contract, worth almost $12 million. Wow, talk about gutting a roster.

Early reports are that Antawn Jamison is headed to the Cleveland Cavaliers as a part of a three team trade.

Details haven't emerged as of yet, but early speculation is that Jamison is headed to Cleveland and newly acquired Drew Gooden is landing on a Western Conference roster. In return the Wizards are expected to get Zydrunas Ilgauskas and a first round pick.

Shady though it may be, I am personally going against my normal stance in these situations, and rooting for Washington to buy Ilgauskas out so he can re-sign with Cleveland. Ilgauskas has been a Cavalier for his entire career, including being stuck there in all the ****ty pre-LeBron years. And he really didn't do anything to merit getting traded, or even losing his starting job, in my opinion. If the Cavaliers end up winning a championship this season, I personally feel as though Ilgauskas deserves to be a part of that.

So, yeah, I'm totally in favor of Washington letting Ilgauskas go back to Cleveland. And it might be the "right thing" to make him stay in DC but, as Samuel L. Jackson said in S.W.A.T., "Sometimes, doin' the right thing ain't doin' the right thing." Besides, living as I do ostensibly in the Wizards broadcast area, I get to listen to a lot of Wizards coverage around here (yay me!), and I don't think that they want Ilgauskas, anyway.

Wow is right...too bad they traded the #5 for Foye and Miller last year. They'd be sitting pretty with all that cap space and Curry or Rubio right now. They still might have an outside shot at the big guns...DC is a very good sports market, and the Sports Guy mentioned on his podcast, can you imagine if Lebron went there, the July cover of Sport Illustrated has him and Obama on it with a title like the President and the King...

The Cavs look frightening. Jamison is the perfect 4 to pair with Shaq. Not to mention that they didn't lose JJ Hickson who seems to have some real potential. And there's a good chance that they get back Z too (and I seriously hope they do after everything he has done for the Cavs even through some terrible years).

The Clippers officially became able to offer a max contract this summer. Ironically them giving up Telfair to the Cavs gave the Clippers the opportunity to sign LeBron to a max deal this offseason.

The Wizards accomplished what they wanted but I feel that they didn't get enough. I understand the desire to start over but you don't give up pieces for the sake of giving them up. They could have done much better in the other Caron/Haywood deal especially.

If Lebron goes to the clips next season he'll probably slip while going up for a dunk, hit his head on the rim and come down hard, breaking his ankle and suffering a serious concussion.

Lebron should not go to the clips... No one should go to the clips.

blake griffin did.. and his career has gotten off good so far

if lebron moves away from the cavs i will lose whats left of my respect of him... first bolting the slam dunk, which made it yawnage truly.. HE WOULD HAVE WON THAT single handedly....

Yea I agree...he better not leave that city that basically reveres him and has finally put a real squad around him. He will lose a ton of fans if he leaves Cleveland.

Although I would have to root slightly for him if he came to the Knicks (hometown team).

And I understand that. It's still collusion, and I don't know why the NBA is looking the other way on this after the Jerry Stackhouse thing a couple years ago.

Not a bad trade for the Cavs, Jamison seems like he would be a nice fit...but I think that AI (not Allen Iverson) would have been a better fit next to Lebron...Either way, I'm interested in seeing how the Jamison will fit in with the Cavs.

Cavs definitely got stronger. Imagine Rashard Lewis. Jamison can stretch the defense and open the lane more for Lebron. Not to mention Jamison can score on his own as well.

I'm not too sure though how will they play him? at 4? at 3 which is his natural position? or come off the bench..

PG-Mo Williams/Gibson/Telfair
SG-A.Parker/West
SF-Lebron/Moon
PF-Jamison/Hickson/Powe
