Is anyone else a little bitter?

Look around. This is a KINGS board. The fact you've come here and posted tribute after tribute to your Mavericks is, in and of itself, pretty good evidence that we're far from jealous about your team. But it does get pretty old.

I don't care if your team is rebuilding. I'm not a Mavericks fan. I don't care if Don Nelson set his ego aside and let Avery Johnson coach a game as assistant. I'm not a Mavericks fan. I don't care if you want to draw a ton of parallels between the two teams. I don't agree with them, BTW, but that's not here nor there. I'm not a Mavericks fan.

The ONLY reason some of us are talking about the Mavericks right now is because OUR TEAM is out of the finals. Some of us can't quite step away from basketball quite yet. TDOS is a long, painful withdrawal from the sport we love. But make no mistake. WE ARE NOT MAVERICKS fans.

It's not about us being jealous of your team. That's condescending and a little insulting, to be frank. OUR TEAM has gone through a lot in the last couple of years. The next time Dirk Nowitzki goes to the floor in a playoff game and cannot get back up, let me know.

These are personal opinions, BTW. I'm not attempting to speak for the other people here in any way but I'm just a little weary of all the "my team is better than your team" stuff. I get it. The Mavericks are in the finals. And I still don't care. I'm not a Mavericks fan.

I've never tried converting anyone, you included, to become a Maverick fan. That's not my job and frankly, I don't care if you like the Mavericks or hate them. This thread was started by someone saying they were a little bitter and I wanted to know why. Did I initiate? nope.

Nope, just talking NBA in an NBA forum. If you can't talk NBA in an NBA forum - why even have an NBA forum. The Mavericks and the Finals are a part of the NBA. If you don't like it - change the name of the forum from NBA to "NBA minus Mavs talk"

Also, please ban me or cancel my account. If obviously you can't talk in a mature manner about NBA basketball with a mature Maverick fan as myself, who's shown no disrespect to anyone on this board I might add, then I don't want to provide my insightful and very intelligent comments on your site.

Changing the subject back to topic-if the Mavs win, Cuban will do all sorts of dances and other circus-like antics. If they lose, what do you want to bet that he will hire people to start an ivestigative/conspiracy committe to determine how the NBA cheated the Mavs out of the championship.

You asked for honest responses. I gave you one - and made it clear I was speaking for myself only, VF21 a Kings fan.

If you are, in fact, a mature Mavs fan, you'd understand that. If you look around, you'll notice that long-time Mavericks fans like Evilmav2, who has been a productive member of our little group for a long time, ISN'T here. He's probably on a Mavericks board somewhere, celebrating with his fellow Mavericks fans.

You don't want to provide your "insightful and very intelligent comments" any longer because a Kings fan was honest in her reactions to said comments? That's your choice. But look at it this way. What if the Mavericks' and the Kings' positions were reversed? Just how much patience do you think your fellow Mavs fans would be showing on a Mavericks board if a Kings fan was posting "insightful and very intelligent comments" about the Kings at every juncture?

Dude, your team is in the finals. Enjoy it. But don't expect every other fan in the NBA to share in your joy. That's just not the way it goes.

I don't know how anyone in their right mind can root for Miami. They are pretty much a carbon copy of the Lakers - 2 superstars, one Shaq, an experienced overconfident coach and a bunch of washed up disgusting scrubs. After seeing Shaq's 2 "accidental" elbows in the first half - it just maked me remember his games against the Kings. To me he will always be the antichrist.

So to answer the question, no I'm not bitter - I want the Mavs to have a revenge on Shaq for the Kings.

OH I am late to this discussion but I was saying the exact thing to a friend last night during the game. I am definately bitter. Seeing all those fans all excited and thinking what could of been. Seeing Cubans face. I like Avery and some of the players but I always thought we would get our ring first.

I am bitter, but not because of the Mavs per se. That is an interesting way of looking at it, being that the Mavs are what bothers the KingsFans.

I am bitter because of some unforgivable plays in 2002, and an unfortunate injurry, coupled with some sub-par c****ing in 2003...

The fact is, that Mavs team is about as similar to those Mavs of 3 years ago as the Kings are the same as the Kings of 3 years ago.
