Hi all -

It looks like we've got a strange server issue going on. Many of you may have noticed that some social media links (seemingly at random) have not been loading up previews lately.

Well, it looks like this issue is getting worse. Some pages now seem to be completely unopenable across multiple browsers, and this appears to be related to broken social media links.

We are requesting -
PLEASE - do not link any social media (Twitter, BlueSky, etc.) until we get a handle on this, because you may cause the entire page the link is on to go dark.

Thanks!

I noticed some issues attaching images to posts as well (linking to images seems to work ok)

I was wondering if the server was running out of hard drive space

For the moment, things appear to have returned to normal.

I'm a bit hesitant to encourage social media links just yet, because I don't know why things are suddenly better and I fear things may take a turn for the worse again.

One page that was definitely the source of problems was page 47 (current page) of the Kuminga thread. If anybody happens to see that page go dead again, please give a heads up here. Thanks!

Site was apparently even more tired of the Kuminga saga than we were

Or maybe the site saw 47 pages of Kuminga talk and freaked the f out at the possibility that we (well, at least some of us) might've been way too desperate to actually want the guy to come to Sacramento.

Site is still not allowing images to be uploaded. I’m assuming bugs are still being worked out but just thought I’d mention it in case

So my resizings of the book cover for The Stinky Cheeseman and Other Fairly Stupid Tales were in vain.
Somewhere, presumably on a hard drive, there is now a pattern of non-random ones and zeros that heretofore had never existed in this world. You may rest easy knowing that you did that, and it was a job well done.

Any word on this, can we all chip in to get this fixed?
To my knowledge, it isn't a $$$ issue. The board owner updated the forum a while back and all was well. But his contact here is intermittent and we haven't heard back on fixing some these recent issues. If there was something the mods could do we'd let you know.

I appreciate the fact the owner has been willing to build up this site and pay for it even though he doesn’t use it (very generous) but maybe it’s time for this site to be managed by a third party. If enough members would chip in 50 bucks a year we could have a better user experience and easier back of the house management/communication. Just my 2 cents.
