How would you guys feel about signing Latrell Spreewell?

I'd take him, or a few specific others currently not with a team. I'm not really out on K-Mart/Garcia yet (as far as bench production), but really, in the long-term this season, I don't know.

I'd sign him, with a provision in the contract that he has to live in a plexiglass cell separate from the players and coaches, and at gametime he's wheeled out on a dolly (with muzzle) and allowed to play.
In return his children get all the Arco dogs they can eat.

I have to admit to not having read anybody else's posts before this reply...

but at the current respective points in each of their careers, today I'd rather sign Wilt Chamberlain to a long-term bulky contract than Latrell Spreewell to a one year vets minimum.

id rather have spree on the team than thomas at this point.... its a shame that we couldnt get rid of him in the offseason so that we could keep darius..... but if we could get spree and get rid of corliss.....

id be down.....

I would sign him if he could help the team. But he's 35 years old, and he can't play anymore.

Spree rather than Thomas? Nah, still early for KT. I like Corliss on the team, but I'd trade him for a versatile swingman or replace him with one.

sure, sign him up.

he'd make a wonderful sweat wiper upper guy.

The truth is that Spreewell would be able to contribute more than Garcia or Martin, at this moment. But, we have a bit too many bodies on the team anyway, it would create locker room issues and Spree is just not the perfect guy for such a situation :)

The key words in that sentence are "at this moment." And even that is questionable. There has to be a reason EVERY OTHER TEAM in the NBA has avoided him like the plague this time around.

One consistent complaint around here is that the Kings always seem to be bringing in people for bandaid fixes and NOT planning for the future. Bringing in Sprewell wouldn't be a bandaid; it would be inviting flesh-eating bacteria into an open wound. A team trying to find its identity and path does not need any more soap opera-type distractions.

I'd pay good money to see Latrell Sprewell attempt to choke Brian Skinner.
I'd pay good money to see Brad miller attempt to shoot Latrell Spreewell with a bow and arrow.

I know what we should do. We should fire Adleman, trade Bibby, bring Peja off the bench, sign Sprewell, hate on the new kids because they fail to be vlade, doug, or chris clones and, while we are at it, we should also wear shiney gold uniforms and give the fans a statue to convince them to stay fans.

Listen, We have played exactly 2 regular season games. Let's not panic just yet.

1. Rick Adleman has EARNED the right to coach this team this year. (HE will probably make the decision to leave after this season anyway)
2. Bibby and Peja are shooters. They will find their shot sooner rather than later.
3. When Bibby made the comment about being the leader of the team the first time, it came amid a myriad of people ASKING "Who is going to be the leader?" I think that it took guts to claim. He had every right to say it last season. I believe that he will again. If not, someone else will emerge as the leader.
4. Peja should start- PERIOD
5. Give the kids time. All new guys need it (Look at J. O'neal and KG's first years)
6. Spreewell -NO

Didn't mean to rant, but I just think that we can be upset with the way things are going without "throwing the baby out with the bathwater."
