The young guys do bring those things, and yes, it definitely would represent more "hope" for the fanbase than sticking with the stagnant veteran core the team has decided to invest in. But it's not likely to translate to wins. And that's the point. Veteran teams are more likely to win in the NBA than younger teams. Younger players have to learn how to win in this league by playing significant minutes against their more experienced peers. The benefit, of course, is a high draft pick. It's two birds with one stone, so to speak. The young guys get run, and the Kings get to add another young, high value piece through the draft as the losses pile up.
Totally agree with this. I want us to blow this up and go with the youth movement. I believe I would have more fun rooting for the upside and going along for the ride as they grow. However, I don't think people realize how bad we likely would be. Caldwell and Maxime are not regular rotation players at this point and I'm not sure Carter sticks as anything in the NBA other than a journeyman. We would likely be in the 20 win range.

Coach Christie took over a 13-18 team and willed the Kings to a 27-24 record rest of the way. He had to deal with their best player trying to torpedo their season, then trading their best player mid-season and then not having any practice time to integrate Zach LaVine and still got them to 40 wins and #9 and the play-in.

After getting a couple of promising rookies and a full training camp with his own coaches, I'm excited to see if Christie can surprise people with this team. Odds are stacked against the Kings, but if he can instill the "Us against the World" mentality in these guys, you never know what can happen.

I don't think Murray out will hurt us as much as some think. Sabonis out will suck. But we also now have a legit ballhandler. We will split minutes between Saric, Eubanks, Raynaud. How well will we run an offense using Schroeder, Monk, Derozen? Can we make open 3s? That will decide how the beginning of the season goes. Christie so far seems like he gets a lot out of what he has. I mean it's better than no basketball, am I right?!

Without Murray a bad defensive turns into an all time bad defense unless you’re expecting us to win while giving up 125 a night

I just think we've been shoe-horning Murray into power forward as much as possible, and I don't think we have been maximizing his defensive impact that way. That said, I don't think we miss him as much defensively as some think we do. Had we been lining him up against the other teams' small forward and putting him in more scenarios where he is primarily guarding a ball handler, then I think we really miss him.

31-35. As long a DDR is on the roster and not on the bench. Who in the Blue Moon thought that DDR in Sacramento, playing most minutes and taking most shots can help a team? Losing, but being paid too much, taking most shots and standing still on defense... No wonder Fox bailed out. Huerter underwent mental collapse, but luckily in Chicago he is back in shape.
Time to trade Domas. He would be nuts to resign one more time with Kings.
Christies hands are tied. All teams are running like crazy and scoring bejeezus. Doug has nothing. Kings can't score and can't defend.
