This is it ladies and gentlemen and all the other members of this small community. Kings are about to clinch the 8 consecutive post season. Only Spurs can say the same.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
On April 16th 2002 Kings beat Warriors to improve to 61-20 for the season. You have got to remember this game simply because of the 1,2 punch Fundy & Scott who posted a double TDM award from GS point of wiev. It was very cold in hell on that day. Fundy 29/11 and Scott 23/14/3 had 22-26 from the field and 8-10 from the line. Pedja had 20/5/5, Vlade had 10/8/7 and Mike scored 15 points but those were just details.

"It was just one of those games where everyone was hitting shots," Arenas said. "Funderburke was pretty much on fire. Pollard had a pretty good game. They were just up and down at the defensive end. It was just a free ballgame. It started off as a basketball game, but they started pulling away a little bit, and then it was like they were resting for the playoffs."
.
"It was a great feeling playing in front of such great fans," said Kings center Vlade Divac, who had 10 points and eight rebounds. "Part of our success can be attributed to our fans. We have to finish strong tomorrow, and go in strong for the playoffs. the guys who haven't played much during the regular season really stepped it up tonight. They played a good game."

Kings @ 42 - 38 "ante portas" of yet another PO appearance. Only one Lakers loss away from 7th spot, Kings have a chance to take care of everything tonight. Magic number is down to 1. The last night's win clinched yet another winning season and who would have thought that let's say in November, December or January. Job well done - guys.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
RA won his 750th game as a NBA coach. If he only could coach - imagine how many wins he would have by now ?;).In the past 8 year he has had lot of obstacles to overcome but he still managed to get his team to win games He never won an award or got nearly as much credit as he deserves but we know what we have.He wasn't suppose to be here anymore - remember ? he was supposed to be fired in November, December, january. And yet he still has the job just as the "experts" who predicted him being fired. I selfishly wish him to end the season with 768 wins but that might not be realistic. No, he has no contract for the next season because he needs to prove himself:rolleyes:. we don't know what will happen. The worst case scenario - some other lucky NBA team will get to play attractive BB and win games and whoever becomes a new kings coach - will have to live in a heuge shadow. Much easier to change nothing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today Suns will have a chance to choose their PO opponent in the first round. If I was them - I would want to play Lakers who by the way still have a chance to miss the post season and as long as there is hope ... Will be an interesting day "at the office" All we can do is win the 2 games that we have left and see what happenes. We will be underdog either way - and that isn't such a bad thing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings are the masters of inconsistancy. You can't even predict two consecutive posessions in a game - let alone the 2 quartes, 2 halves or 2 consecutive games. Good luck with that. We can win everywhere but we can blow 17 point lead at any time. At least we are not boring to watch. Imagine if we were like say pistons and we are winning every night. That is borung. Who would want to watch that. What we do makes watching great. Pure drama sponsored by large pharmaceutical companies who produce prozac, Valium, Zoloft etc.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
SAR or "9 years old virgin" in PO terms - is very close to lose the very same after 349263 games played in the NBA. Was about time. Maybe we can lift some more curses. He has been very professional and had played hurt. While he hasn't been the main reason for us making it, he has been an integral part and he has earned the right to enjoy the fruits of the hard labor.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strange development in the Kings rotation these days. Cisco has lost his spot to Jason Hart. I didn't see it coming and I sure didn't want it to come. What does one have to do wrong to lose the spot to Jason Hart ? bad shot selectin - hardly considerin that every shot Hart takes is a bad shot. Bad decision making - can You really make a decision that is worse that putting Hart in the game ? I don't know what happened but it seems like the doghouse isn't vacant anymore.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
This segment is dedicated to all players/teams who have clinched the lotery.

Hornets - so close but so far away
Sonics - No garbage bags this season huh ?
Wolves - at least they didn't have to feer Spree's family
Rockets - JVG will lose his hait - ups too late
Warriors - the usual
Blazers - brutal

Sixers (almost there) - it is a team game and You have no team. Better luck next time
Magic - too bad the the trade came so late.
Boston - LB rolling in his grave
Raptors - no more 81 - this season
Hawks - at least You own the pacers
Bobcats - You own the Pacers too
Knicks - NBDL
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
TDM award went to Ruben Patterson for his 20/4/3/3//2/1 (9-16) It didn't really matter. LW-VC awars went to Nuggets bench (- KMart) Combined 13/7/7 with 4 TOs and 4-17 from the field and 3-6 from the line. I could have given it to Mello but he is already the property of Ron Artest.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings bounced back after giving away the 17 points leat 3 days ago against the Suns. Nuggets who badly missed Najera - had no chance. That whole division just sucks if Nuggets are the best team in it. Job well done
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonight we get the chance to take care of everything against the already eliminated Hornets. A chance this big - You just dont let go. We have to come out and take care of business. Mike vs CP3 will be fun to watch. No injuries please !
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike bounced back and now he gets to se Paul again. And Claxton
Ron - a good game is due and the pills are hopefully delivered on time. I hope that he empried his pockets because Mello is too heavy to be carried around.
Brad - well, with Brad - You just never know. Blocking shots seems to be his best quality these days
Bonzi - had his usual including bunch of TOs and missed FTs
SAR - he can smell it now. Can he rebound ?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin - was about damn time - kid
Cisco - we need You to get out of the doghouse
KT - he "visited" again and we hope that he can stay longer
Hart - 5 minutes = 5 shots. Iverson is green from envy
------------------------------------------------------------------------
RA - You da man !
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hornets have nothing to play for tonight. Perfect situation for an upset. We can't let it happen. TDM will go to Claxton or Butler. LW-VC award will go to mason. Paul might get a trple double, west might terorize us again but at the end of the day - Kings will prevail

Kings get it by 7

SAR rebounded last night, btw. Don't really get why Butler/Claxton are up for TDM since they've proven themselves all season long as nice players (Claxton had a good last season, and key run with the Spurs also). West should be up for it also since he's done the same thing ;). Claxton a top 6th man of the year canidate.

I say it goes to Linton Johnson or Brandon Bass. Johnson beginning to show what he can do since coming to Hornets, having a bunch of solid games.

Nice post overall - but I'm not sure that SAR being a "9 years old virgin" (in terms of the playoffs) has quite the right ring to it (I would hope that 9 year olds are virgins!!). I think he's more like a "40 year old" virgin - although I'm not sure about the math on that.

Hey maybe playoff years are like dog years - 9 x 7 = 63. SAR then is a 63 years old (playoff) virgin!?!

I think i know why Hart is getting some PT these days. We are expected to play the spurs in the 1st round. Hart can guard Parker's quickness better than Cisco. realistically Bibby will be in when Parker is in but, stranger things have happend. Lets say Parker is killing Bibby and Bibby is not shooting well. I know Hart won't take over but he would be likely to get 5 or 6 ectra min if he is playing good D on Parker. After all that is why we got him. And with Artest on Ginobili and Duncan looking like an idiot this year Parker is the biggest threat.

I have no idea why, but that had me rolling.

Bibby would neutralize it by his offense, if he can get it going. Their biggest threat is their bench IMO.
