The New Jersey Nets' loss looks to be the Sacramento Kings gain as Shareef Abdur-Rahim is expected to sign a free agent contract with the Kings in the coming days.
The Kings are reportedly discussing sign and trade options with the Portland Trail Blazers; however the Blazers are said to have no interest in any available Sacramento players.
The New Jersey Nets possessed a trade exception which made the original deal possible. They backed out of the trade when Abdur-Rahim failed a physical. The Kings are said not to have the same concerns regarding scar tissue in Abdur-Rahim's knee.
